The acting head of Dagestan dismissed the regional government.

Acting Head of Dagestan Fyodor Shchukin signed a decree dismissing the regional government. He had just officially taken office and immediately began forming his team.

Magomed Ramazanov has been appointed acting prime minister. He has federal experience: previously, he served as deputy presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District. Before that, he served as deputy presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.

Zaur Askenderov, Chairman of the People's Assembly of Dagestan, has already called the future Shchukin-Ramazanov partnership "successful." And this assessment is apparently shared at the very top. President Vladimir Putin supported the proposal. And in the spring, he even addressed Ramazanov directly:

So, Magomed Israfailovich, you are currently working in the Far East, but I would ask you to move to Dagestan now and work there as deputy plenipotentiary representative, in your small homeland. In my opinion, your knowledge of the situation, understanding of what is happening, and the ability to directly communicate with people will be in demand.

Shchukin himself was appointed acting head of the republic on May 4, replacing Sergei Melikov. While Melikov was remembered for his fight against corruption and pandemic restrictions, the new leader will face different challenges. The cabinet has been instructed to continue its work until the new composition is formed.

      - replacing Sergei Melikov.
      The clans won.

They won when Melikov began to deny the existence of “clannishness” in the government of the Republic of Dagestan.
      Here are his words:
      - In the Caucasian context, "clannishness" is often confused with strong family ties and professional continuity
      - doctors, teachers or military personnel in several generations are a positive phenomenon (“labor dynasties”) that has no connection with criminal or corrupt structures

For some reason, I was reminded of the film "Don't Be Afraid, I'm With You!", where Yursky's character called corruption "local color"...

When I worked at Rosseti, our electricity distribution company sent electricians there on business trips to help local Rosseti offices identify and account for non-payers.
When the guys returned, they told interesting things: they don’t pay almost 80% of the customers, there are transformer substations and transformer substations near shopping centers that the local power supply company doesn’t have access to, and they negotiate payment verbally among themselves.
The local electrician accompanying them forbade them from entering one house altogether, saying, "The family of a very respected person lives there." When they asked who he was, the answer was, "He's in jail for Wahhabism; if we bother him, there will be problems."
This is how they live at the expense of the Russian Vanya.
