WSJ: China supplies drone components to Russia and Iran

China continues to supply drone components to Russia and Iran and has no plans to stop, despite the threat of US sanctions, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The American publication points out that China openly ignores US sanctions while continuing to support drone development programs in Russia and Iran. Chinese companies, mostly small ones, openly supply dual-use components, including motors, batteries, microchips, and fiber optics.

In particular, on Iranian dronesThe Shahed-136 kamikaze bombers used during the conflict with the US and Israel are equipped with German-designed L550 engines, openly supplied by the Chinese company Xiamen Victory Technology. American officials, for their part, claim that it is virtually impossible to stop such shipments, nor to trace the original supplier.

The components pass through a number of intermediary companies, most of which are so small that imposing US sanctions against them is simply impossible. The company is simply shut down, and tomorrow another one will appear in its place, but with the same functions. Meanwhile, China ships hundreds of containers of components to Iran and Russia every day.

China sends the same thing to the USA, Europe, Ukraine... to anyone who will pay.

Well, this is the norm under capitalism and, moreover, smart people should act this way.

China is simply getting fat on orders; last year their trade surplus reached as much as $1 trillion.

Why not, if there's such an opportunity? It worked, so they're taking advantage of the moment—everything could change.

So, it's a sacred duty for the merchants to take advantage of someone's misfortune. And then the patriots get mad that the merchants aren't patriots and aren't brothers. The smart ones figure out class struggle, while the dumb ones get lost in nationalism.

Why should China sacrifice its interests for Russia or anyone else? China's leadership works for the good of its country (its people), at least as they understand it. Likewise, Russia's leadership should forget about all these fraternal nations and work for the good of Russia.

That's right. The problem is with the patriots in the comments; they think in terms of brotherhood.

Well, I don't know. In theory, I think if you're in Israel, you're probably smart, as is commonly believed, and therefore won't waste your time on comments and squabbles, but rather earning shekels. Although, to each his own.

Yes, quite the opposite, if he were smart, he would go to some other country.

If you're implying that I'm from Israel or that I was there at some point, then no. I just know a lot of people who went there in the late 80s and early 90s, and the more sensible ones didn't stay there long; some went on to the US, and some even returned.

Why, actually, is the WSJ so excited?
China supplies components for drones not only to Russia and Iran.
UKRAINIAN DRONES ARE ASSEMBLED FROM THE SAME COMPONENTS. I wouldn't be surprised if American ones are too.
China supplies components to EVERYONE who pays for them.

Back to back, like a rock... Hurray-hurray...

Yes, there was a scandal when they opened the skin of the newest US fundraiser, and found chips made in China. It was ordered. Video and photography are prohibited in the Maintenance Department. The "independent media" raged for six months, and then that was it. They shut it down democratically. The main thing is that Putin is stealing missiles from Trump, and China has nothing to do with it.

This is a fait accompli and an ongoing scandal. Chinese components have repeatedly surfaced, even in US strategic weapons, under the label "made in the USA." hi

So, German drone manufacturers use Chinese equipment and components for everything. And I don't think it's just German ones. These drones then know exactly where they're going and where they're going next.

The funny thing is, they don't understand this. Some fellow countryman gets upset that, say, a homespun tire from Nizhnekamsk is expensive, while a Chinese one is cheaper, like, "Nizhnekamsktire, lower your prices!" It doesn't occur to him that China has the entire planet as a market and can dump prices due to mass production, while a homespun tire from Nizhnekamsk has a market no further than its hometown of Zazhopinsk and can't be so lenient with prices. Be a patriot, damn it, and buy domestic!

There's also the question of what we mean by "China." Taiwan, for example, is also China, and with its microelectronics, in terms of the technical level of its components, the mastered mass-produced technologies, production volumes, productivity, and cost (competitiveness), it's no weaker than China...

But the US's "warnings" regarding the "imposition of secondary sanctions" sound truly ridiculous. Allegedly, those who cooperate with Russia economically are helping it "fill its budget" and conduct military operations. Even though they are not "directly" involved in the conflict between Russia and the so-called "West."

So, what "claims" are there against Iran then? When, in the same way, it "secondarily" punishes the Saudis, the UAE, and others who are not "directly" involved in the US and Israeli aggression against Iran? And attacks them, only because they are on their own territory, have US bases, and thus "indirectly" assist Washington and Tel Aviv in their aggression against Tehran?

Some compatriot is indignant that, say, a home-made tire from, say, Nizhnekamsk Tire is expensive, but a Chinese one is cheaper, like, Nizhnekamsk Tire, lower the price!

Expensive Chinese cars are all Michelin-branded...
And in Nizhnekamsk, passenger car tires are still produced on Pirelli equipment?

Selling components for "civilian" drones and the like to everyone (including our enemies) is standard economic practice, but the fact that Russia and Iran, ignoring American threats and sanctions, support and supply the necessary components, drones, and more, speaks volumes... and, most importantly, about whose side they're on.
I don't understand the locals' discontent, in general...

Yeah. And Ukraine. In terms of trade volumes, and even more than that. And Europe, by the way... Both yours and ours. China is such a neighbor that it doesn't need enemies.

Our press likes to portray China as Russia's ally, but that's not true. China sells components and drones to everyone, including Ukraine. It only helps us because it gets oil and gas from us for next to nothing.
