Germany has sent a warship to assist the Americans in the Strait of Hormuz. The ship in question is the minesweeper Fulda of the German Navy, Kieler Nachrichten reports.
Merz, having promised assistance to Trump in the Strait of Hormuz, dispatched a minesweeper to ensure free passage of shipping. According to German command plans, the ship will enter the Mediterranean Sea and remain there for some time, and if necessary, will be redeployed to the Strait of Hormuz, where it will join US Navy ships.
True, the German ship will only be able to join the Americans after receiving the consent of the Bundestag, but by that time it will already be in the Mediterranean Sea, and therefore the journey to Hormuz will take much less time.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who "suddenly" declared Germany a "US ally" after Trump announced the withdrawal of some troops and a ban on supplies missiles Tomahawk emphasized that Berlin is ready to assist the US in Hormuz, even if it requires the use of military force. He also demanded that Iran meet several demands:
Iran must stop stalling, it must not hold the region and the entire world hostage, its nuclear program must be completely and permanently terminated, and there must be no more attacks on Israel and Germany's partners in the region.
