EU Energy Commissioner: The worst energy crisis of all time is coming

Europe fears a growing fuel shortage due to the conflict in the Middle East. Even if the fighting ends soon, it could take years for the market to stabilize.

European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen stated that "possibly the worst energy crisis of all time" is approaching, according to a German publication.

Due to rising energy prices, EU countries have already incurred additional costs totaling over thirty billion euros since the beginning of March. And this is just the beginning, Jorgensen predicted.

In the special risk zone - aviation The European Commissioner for Energy predicted disruptions to the summer air travel season, stating that kerosene supply shortages, flight cancellations, and rising ticket prices will begin as early as early June.

To prevent collapse, EU authorities are already increasing strategic fuel reserves. Brussels is also developing emergency resource allocation scenarios in the event of a severe shortage. These are unprecedented mechanisms that have never been used in peacetime.

In April, Jørgensen presented the AccelerateEU emergency plan to combat rising energy prices and accelerate Europe's transition to clean energy. The plan includes, among other things, protecting consumers and industry from price shocks, modernizing the EU energy system, and other measures. This means additional financial spending.

Just over a year ago, Jørgensen presented the European Commission's plan to completely phase out Russian gas and other energy sources by the end of next year. Among other things, Brussels' plan called for a complete ban on nuclear fuel supplies from Russia. Now, everything has changed dramatically. The Belgian government recently abandoned plans to dismantle its nuclear power plant reactors as part of its transition to renewable energy sources. Moreover, the kingdom intends to restore nuclear power generation and even build additional nuclear power plant units.

The US has imposed a 25% tariff on cars from Germany. It's only been six months since Ursula touted the 15% tariff as a success for EU politicians, and now this unexpected development. The US doesn't like to honor agreements.
Just over a year ago, Jorgensen presented the European Commission's plan to completely phase out Russian gas and other energy sources by the end of next year.
How are our President's instructions regarding gas supplies to the EU going? Are they being implemented? Or is this something else entirely?
Among other things, Brussels' plan included a complete refusal to supply nuclear fuel from Russia.
As far as I remember, Russia supplies 70% of the world's fuel. Not uranium, but fuel itself. It's twice as expensive for everyone else, and Russia even offers free disposal. Maybe we should ban nuclear fuel supplies to the EU, especially since they're the ones who want it?

I don't even know what needs to be done to make a splash. Maybe our top brass should grow beards and change their shoes into slippers? Would that help?

Now everything has changed a lot.

Let them buy energy resources at "exclusive" prices, at exorbitant prices and not a cent cheaper.

"The worst energy crisis of all time is coming."
    What a seer, damn it.
The names of the perpetrators of this "most severe crisis" are on everyone's lips. We won't point fingers.
Keep putting helicopters and panels in. Don't forget about airliners too. (Sarcasm).

How can you turn one hot topic into an article almost every day? It's clear there's a crisis. But... A journalist is like a milling machine operator—the more you mill, the more you get. Journalists also chase characters. But submit truly good articles with figures, facts, and analysis. Otherwise, the article is worthless. There are thousands of them on thousands of websites. A hyperactive press... Ugh...

It will still come to the point where Russian gas and oil will become "democratic", with molecules of freedom....Who in Europe will be the first to announce THIS!??...But they will come....The Japanese are quietly buying, despite the "undemocratic" nature...
Is it time to tell Europeans to "go to the market and look for goods"...or "we're not like that"?
Although the lesson for Europe was very clear and... convincing.

They will soon have nothing to eat, which is why they will again go east for “living space”.

The Americans are certainly great - they are doing everything to pit a united Europe against Russia.

Actually, it's the British who are doing this. They'll drive the Germans into poverty, as usual, Merz has already promised, and then a genetic trigger goes off in the Germans' heads, and they march east in orderly columns. The Brits are masters of this German sensibility.

There is not only oil and gas there, but also diesel and jet fuel
In early April, Sergei Kolobanov estimated total jet fuel consumption in Europe in 2025 at 48 million tons, of which only 30 million tons would be produced by EU refineries. The rest is imported, half of which comes from the Middle East. https://www.rbc.ru/business/16/04/2026/69e122b29a79476004908e58

9 million tons of jet fuel from the Gulf... while oil supplies can be restored, the supply of the same kerosene will not recover quickly after the strikes on Fujairah and elsewhere...
The European Union may be forced to purchase American jet fuel to overcome the shortage caused by the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz, warned European Commissioner for Transport and Tourism Apostolos Tsitsikostas https://tass.ru/ekonomika/27174085

Why do they need electricity in the "Garden of Eden"? I've never seen "Garden of Eden" at night in paintings; it's only daytime. And secondly, 200 liters of gasoline, diesel fuel or whatever, is only €200 more expensive. Then I don't understand why €200 is so critical for a household in Europe. what They have big salaries, or maybe not so big in the end.

Then I don’t understand anything, 200€ is so critical for a household in Europe.

The rich are silent, and the poor in Europe don’t have 200 left after mandatory payments, which means there simply won’t be enough for mandatory payments.
