Putin ratified the federal law on military cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua.

Vladimir Putin signed a federal law ratifying the intergovernmental agreement with Nicaragua on military cooperation. The document, signed in Moscow on September 22, 2025, is now fully effective. The corresponding law has been published on the official legal information portal.

The cooperation encompasses several key areas. These include joint troop training, the exchange of experience and information in countering extremism and international terrorism, the fight against piracy, military-scientific cooperation, and the joint study of military security issues. Furthermore, the agreement provides for cooperation between the military educational institutions of the two countries.

Nicaragua isn't just another Russian partner in Latin America. It's a country that consistently supports Moscow on the international stage. It hasn't joined the anti-Russian sanctions. Nicaragua also has its own history Resisting American pressure. For the Kremlin, Managua is a strategic ally in the "American rear." And the military agreement confirms this.

Ratification will protect the interests of Russian citizens performing tasks under this agreement from Nicaraguan jurisdiction. This means our military personnel and specialists will not be subject to local laws. This is a significant legal guarantee.

And they no longer care; the closer it gets to the elections, the more it will be off-topic. request It's always like this. I don't know, maybe they pay for the number of posts, but I don't really believe it. Maybe it's ideological, but I don't believe it either. But they'll "sell" the Indians the latest air defense systems on credit (written off someday), which, by the way, will then be closely examined by the owners of the "suddenly attacked opposition." We have tons of them, these very systems! Well, they'll give us a couple dozen Su-57s for free as thanks for our pro-Russian stance. And they'll even train pilots. And what's more, they'll build an Air Force Academy in Managua. How are the Indians any worse than the Kyrgyz? They'll give us some kind of loan with some slippery guarantee. Like Yanukovych once did. It's an interesting idea... Even if it's a fixed one. By the way, do you have a plan, Mr. Fix?

It's difficult to comment on this. If Nicaragua expresses a desire to follow in the footsteps of the DPRK and prepare its own units behind the tape, then yes, welcome. But if it's like a check valve—a buoy blowing in and out—then we won't care. We'll finish our meals without salt...

I agree with you. This gives Nicaragua nothing. And especially no protection from Russia. The example of Cuba is right there. No one will help or protect them. Suddenly, Trump's red-headed brain will get it into his head that an aircraft carrier needs to be sent to the shores of Nicaragua—and that's it—the Sandinistas' independence will end that very day.

I know this happened before COVID. Then, when the epidemic hit, they told us to leave quickly... fuss, bustle... Generally, I regret that under the USSR, the communists had purely theoretical disagreements with many LA Communist Parties, which led to squabbles and a cooling off. Maybe it would have been better if they had supported LA rather than the spoiled Eastern Europe. recourse

Yes, Eastern Europe was more important, separating us from the capitalist countries. But many kept their fingers in their pockets. Especially the less-than-Baltic people in the USSR.
It's unclear which is more important—Indonesia, Egypt, some African countries... After all, LA wanted socialism-communism. But they somehow combined M-L with folk heroic Indian epics, which fundamentally did not correspond to the CPSU.

You don't understand economics. To write off a debt, the debtor must be a strategic partner. Cuba got $30 billion written off, but Venezuela didn't get $17 billion in time (it's now pro-American). North Korea got 99% of its debt written off and joined the sanctions, but it still remains a strategic partner. The Foreign Ministry doesn't understand what it needs...
