UN Secretary-General: When Hormuz is blocked, the world's poorest people suffer

The UN Secretary-General called for the immediate restoration of full operations in the Strait of Hormuz. António Guterres warned that ongoing shipping disruptions are causing serious damage to global energy supplies and international trade.

Guterresch:

All parties to the conflict are obligated to respect freedom of navigation, including the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with international law. When the Strait of Hormuz is closed, the poorest and most vulnerable people on the planet suffer.

Guterres did not specify who exactly - Arab sheikhs or Ursula von der Leyen's clan?

According to the UN, approximately 35% of the world's crude oil, 30% of fertilizer, and a fifth of its liquefied natural gas pass through the strait in normal times. Tensions between the US and Iran persist amid recent shipping incidents and restrictions on maritime traffic, which have already led to rising energy prices and supply disruptions.

Currently, all grades of oil are trading above $100 per barrel again. Brent crude is trading at $109, while Russian Urals crude is trading at approximately $107.

Meanwhile, French officials emphasized that de-escalation is only possible if Iran is willing to make concessions. According to Paris's logic, concessions must come exclusively from Iran:

To achieve peace in the region, Iran must fulfill its international obligations, cease destabilizing actions, and return to the negotiating table.

Not a word about the destabilizing actions of the US and Israel.

As a reminder, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was received by Russian President Vladimir Putin today. The Iranian diplomat emphasized that the Iranian people are proud to have the Russian Federation as an ally and expresses gratitude to the Russian people for their support of Iran.

It's these "poor" "Europeans" who elect those who contributed to the current situation. But it's the rich who suffer the most, losing tens, even hundreds, of billions a day.

"When Hormuz is closed, the poorest and most vulnerable people on the planet suffer."
And when Hormuz is open, do they rejoice and have fun?

For my reference book, which I know practically by heart, a separate increase in the "approval rating" (separate "pluses").

My wife, a philologist, says it's an "adventure novel."
What would they, philologists, understand about literature!.. It is an encyclopedia, because you can find a commentary on almost any situation from life in this book.

Roma, hi! Are you reading the wrong thing? Are you bored? You're reading whatever comes to mind. Let me give you some ideas on what to read in the morning... Look at the morning news... Chicken shashlik (I don't like it at all) 486 rubles, pork (I respect it) 526... But back in the day, I was fed original shashlik...
without salt, straight from the slaughtered (they slaughter, and we slaughter) lamb... yes, it's very juicy and tasty, it seems, but not salty... Also, the Vietnamese cadets arranged a holiday for me... well, this is not a topic for VO at all :))) This should be a separate topic for culinary... :))

I remember being told how those poor, starving African children were suffering. And that's why the "grain deal" was so desperately needed. As a result, Ukrainian grain was being consumed by perfectly European livestock in Spain and France.
In response, we received only seaborne arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Now the hungry and unhappy sheikhs are suffering...

I've long proposed creating a humor section on VO. The UN will be the star there—every resolution, every statement, will be a laughing matter...

It is the rich who suffer the most
It depends on which side you look at.
That's how it happens, That's how it turns out
      — Someone's losing, Someone's losing, Someone's losing,
      And someone finds it
Many wealthy people are actually in the black. Those who sell oil and petroleum products, fertilizers, and other petrochemicals.

We urgently need to help these comrades! Exempt them from taxes and issue vouchers for enhanced nutrition.
P.S. And also compensate them for travel on the metro, tram, and trolleybus!

They may lose something, but firstly, it has absolutely no impact on their quality of life, and secondly, they will get everything back later, with interest. And it's the ordinary citizens of various countries who suffer.

Why did this clown come out?
So when hundreds of billions worth of weapons were supplied to the drug addict Zelensky, and then these weapons were used to bomb kindergartens, schools, hospitals, and apartment buildings in Russia, that meant "nothing" to him. When Israeli fascists rolled 10000 children into concrete in the Gaza Strip and killed over 10 children alone, that was also normal for him. He didn't even notice the murder of hundreds of girls in a school in Iran, but then gas prices got expensive in the US, and he immediately started barking about this nonsense.

Trump publicly named these "poor guys" and called for the Navy to send them to open Hormuz. They're evading this for now, but they promise to send them after a complete victory. They just won't say whose.

Guterres, where were you when the two aggressor countries attacked Iran? Iran has never attacked first. And when they both got their asses kicked, Guterres sang to the tune of Israel and the US (Iran, as if it had lost badly and should surrender to Guterres's mercy). Don't be surprised; they truly live in their own looking-glass world.

The poor are suffering. Guterres is right, but he's not telling the whole story. The poor suffer in a poor way; they're used to it, it's not the first time. And the rich suffer in a rich way: businesses are suffering, you can't buy a new castle, you can't buy that extra Lamborghini, and you have to indulge in Epstein-esque pleasures less often. Everyone suffers in their own way.

King Charlie has arrived in the US for a four-day visit. He'll likely ask Trump to open Hormuz. However, British officials are demanding that Charlie not step on Zelensky's rake at the White House—the Trump-Charlie meeting must be behind closed doors. Things are getting interesting.

Navy, that is, but what to do with them? After the Gorshkov escorted four tankers through the English Channel and our submarine "accidentally" showed up in those parts, Britain (let's drop the "great" part) decided to sell off its patrol ships, probably because they were useless... feel

Judging by the NYP, they didn't even roll out the red carpet for Charlie. (I'm not sure, the video won't open.) Tomorrow he'll give a speech to Congress, and then dinner at the White House. (What he said.) laughing

Sorry (NYT), but there's a path - everything's according to protocol, you're met by a guard, some small fry, and English embassy staff. Guards in the US are certainly creepy. A quick meeting with Trump's man will be - hello, hello. How was your flight? (And even the bees in the White House have hives shaped like the White House - does that increase their "crop yield"?)

Who cares about these "poorest people on the planet"? IMHO, no one.

I remember when the first casualties started in the SVO, they printed the names. They awarded the title of Hero... And now?
Just statistics. "300 people with one bomb." "2 million dead" (according to the "expert").
But the middle-class investors and banks are on top...

Surely there, billionaires are happily counting their profits too...

What if Hormuz opens, will the poor people suddenly stop suffering?! Will they open accounts and start living happily ever after?
In Russia, for example, Nabiullina blurted out that fuel prices are rising because of Hormuz... belay
As for the toll, $2 million, if spread across the million barrels charged by a good tanker, is only $2 per barrel. A pittance, really...
