Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander: Seversk was lost because they didn't know how to use weapons.

The new commander of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vadym Cherniy, explained why the Ukrainian regime lost the city of Seversk in December 2025:
There were infantrymen in the positions who, in the presence of shovels, bags, weapons They didn't know how to use their weapons properly, nor did they know how to equip a position.
The brigade commander lists systemic failures: a lack of even the slightest understanding of ambush procedures, battlefield engagement procedures, and enemy elimination methods. Combat training, he says, "was either nonexistent or merely on paper." Infantrymen were thrown to the front lines without basic trench warfare skills.
Cherniy believes the problems had been building up and simply erupted overnight. Meanwhile, local authorities systematically lied in reports to the higher-ups about the real state of affairs.
As a reminder, Seversk was liberated by Russian troops in December 2025. At that time, the commanders of the 54th and 10th Brigades had already been dismissed. Now the new brigade commander is destroying the remaining reputation of the Ukrainian army.
Despite such statements, which seem more like attempts at justification, it cannot be denied that enemy resistance in the city was strong. Nevertheless, the Russian army liberated Seversk from the Kyiv regime.
