"Boys are particularly often affected": The Ministry of Health is concerned about the rise in childhood obesity.

The Russian Ministry of Health is concerned about the rising prevalence of childhood obesity in the country, with boys being particularly susceptible to excess weight. Overall, obesity rates are almost equal among men and women. The study's results show that obesity persists into adulthood more often than other factors, especially among men.

Almost one in three deaths in Russia is related to the consequences of obesity. According to medical data, almost 30% of deaths in Russia are caused by diet-related diseases associated with excess weight and obesity. According to Professor Pogozheva, conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain types of cancer are largely due to poor nutrition, which can contribute 30–65% to the development of these conditions.

According to rather disappointing expert estimates, by 2050, over 70% of Russians could face problems caused by excess weight, leading to an increase in related health conditions. A similar trend is observed worldwide: in the coming decades, up to 60% of the world's adult population is expected to suffer from obesity-related diseases.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously ordered the introduction of a tax deduction for regular medical examinations and the GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) test. The tax deduction is 18 rubles per year.

As the father of two young athletes (ages 14 and 10), I can say this: we need to legislate against charging fees for children's sports clubs and competitions, at least until age 14. Many people truly can't afford to enroll their children in sports because it's so expensive! Equipment is expensive, classes are expensive, and competitions are incredibly expensive. The state could easily assume the responsibility and costs of Children's Sports, and the consequences of not doing so would be even more costly.

It's not expensive at all when it comes to sports clubs for general physical training. You don't have to immediately raise a world champion!
And if this is too expensive, try to give up some "excesses" for the sake of your child - cigarettes, beer/cognac, etc.

Don't confuse children's competitions according to the calendar plan within the framework of the federation for a sport (where expenses are minimal) with various kinds of "tournaments" outside the calendar.

I'm a Master of Sports athlete myself, and my wife is a Honored Master of Sports champion. What the hell are these federation-wide competitions for? It's just a get-together within a section. laughing Who pays for any competitions and tournaments, even regional ones, that involve travel? I'm not even considering the escort option.

Let's assume so. It's doubtful, but I won't argue, although this "quite" still requires some calculations.
From personal experience, I can say that my grandson played hockey in a paid section, and he loved it. But his parents couldn't afford it anymore, so the classes stopped. I think if there were a free option (even relatively) nearby, no one would refuse. But let's assume that this is an isolated case.

And also limit uncontrolled social media use, which crowds out the desire to read books and exercise. But that's a parental responsibility. I remember back in the day, all schoolchildren socialized in the courtyards, and the activities were active, like soccer or lapta. And yes, there were plenty of free clubs and interest groups—just show up and sign up. Incidentally, even back then, children had access to sweets, but with an active lifestyle, all those carbohydrates were burned off through regular muscle activity—there weren't many overweight kids.

Obesity mostly affects adults. Soviet-era standards won't help, and no one will buy that food; it won't be palatable for most people. Those standards also contained a lot of sugar. And all the cookies were full of margarine, which slowly clogs blood vessels. So don't think everything was so good in the USSR. Science never stands still.

I won't cover all the food GOST standards, but let's use one example. Let's take the GOST for chocolate (the topic is about children): cocoa butter couldn't be substituted with alternatives, that is, vegetable and animal fats, but now it can. I don't think I need to explain that they often use the cheapest substitutes.
Although in the USSR, since 1969, they would like to change many things in food GOST standards, since that year they began to use palm oil.
Sports, by example: my son practices Greco-Roman wrestling and hand-to-hand combat (he's a first-class athlete in both), has started competing in Sambo tournaments, and plans to try MMA. My daughter swims, like her mother.
I would like to add one more thing: how does the homeland plan to train sports shooters, given the current Law on Weapons? laughing I teach mine "underground." If a child is caught with a weapon, the minimum penalty for the gun owner is a fine and the loss of his license.
Tyumen has a world-class biathlon center. I often watch training sessions (near the dacha). The training with air guns and on shooting simulators is nothing but laughable. Incidentally, my fellow countrywomen, Olympic Champions and Heroes of Russia Akhatova and Kukleva, and Olympic Champion Shipulin, have been trying to reach out to the authorities, so far to no avail.

So, does this somehow affect the BJU?
In fact, if you eat kilos of chocolate, you'll still gain weight, no matter what kind of butter you use. And to avoid gaining weight, you need to watch your food intake first and foremost—GOST standards have nothing to do with it.

Regular edible palm oil can be consumed in small quantities, although it contains more saturated fat than sunflower oil. Industrial palm oil is truly harmful (it's used in the production of lubricants and soap and shouldn't be consumed), but its low cost encourages some manufacturers to use it. Roskontrol is responsible for inspecting these products, removing them from sale, and penalizing the manufacturers.

According to Rosstat, 20,9 million people in Russia fell below the poverty line in the first quarter of 2022. I can say that when I was young (during the era of developed socialism), everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, ate cookies. But practically all the kids also participated in some kind of sports club. For example, in Moscow, in the Vodny Stadion-Rechnoy Vokzal metro area (where I lived at the time), the entire bank of the Moscow Canal was occupied by sports clubs. Water sports, cycling, gymnastics... right down to gorodki (skid-style play). And all the teenagers attended these clubs, snacking on cookies after school (really). And all the clubs were free. In fact, they even provided equipment: oars, skis, bikes... And at competitions, they even provided special food rations (by the way, they even had cookies. They were delicious with condensed milk), and sports camps were open to everyone... And I don't recall a single fat kid in our circle.
Now, residential complexes and banks have been built along these banks. And instead of the artificial ice running track at the Vodny Stadium, there's now an office center with numerous buildings. But there are more and more fatties among the young people.

It's not just sports clubs...there are no clubs left with any special interests. I used to go to boating and aircraft modeling clubs. Now there are none at all. Children aren't even given technical development. And those that exist are slowly shrinking and closing because they have fees, and people have less and less money. The only free club nearby is hockey, but they barely even got one group together this year because it turned out to be, so to speak, "conditionally free." Buy a uniform, buy it, bribe the coach, otherwise you'll only get on the ice during breaks, trips are all at your parents' expense, and so on and so forth.

    just for information
The average Big Mac contains about 500–520 calories.
To get rid of this "fuel", the child will need:
    - swimming (active, crawl): ~55–65 minutes
    - jump rope (high tempo): ~40–50 minutes
    - running (at a speed of about 10–12 km/h): ~45–55 minutes
    Submitted?
    Easy?
So it's just a Big Mac
A pack of chips, 100g - up to 600-700 kcal
Pizza, 2-3 slices - the same amount
A piece of cake, 150g - the same
    Examples can be given endlessly.
Always keep these examples in mind when your child grabs a bag of chips and a bottle of cola and goes to his room.

The average Big Mac is about 500-520 kcal... to get rid of this "fuel", a child will need

To burn 500 kcal, it is enough to simply sleep for eight hours, without moving at all.
The problem with obesity isn't calorie intake per se, but rather a calorie surplus. In principle, you could live on cakes alone and not gain weight if you maintain a balance between energy intake and energy expenditure. Although this ultimately isn't healthy either, but from a different perspective.

        The figure is absolutely correct!
But the approach itself is wrong)
We initially assume that the child sleeps regularly, for 8 hours, and without this doping in the form of unhealthy food?
We believe. And we mean that the body is in balance; how much it takes in (breakfasts/lunches/dinners) is how much it spends.
And suddenly an unplanned bag of chips falls on the child.
He won't eat it instead of lunch, right? He'll eat it somewhere, in the yard, after school, near the computer, or somewhere else. And he certainly won't count the calories; he'll eat as many as are in the package. So it turns out he's gotten hundreds (!) of unaccounted calories, in addition to his regular food! And at night, he'll sleep just like every other night.
And where will the extra calories go?
        Hello, first step towards obesity...
The problem with obesity isn't calorie intake per se, but rather a calorie surplus. In principle, you could live on cakes alone.

        And so and not so.
Maintaining a calorie balance is correct.
Cakes (and any pastries, baked goods, etc.) are fast carbohydrates. They require immediate action from the body to be eliminated.
Or - another step towards obesity...
        It's all simple)

If a child (and not only them) is hit with unplanned calories in the form of a bowl of buckwheat, the result will be exactly the same. The key word is unplanned. Or, more accurately, unnecessary.

If these fast-burning calories aren't burned quickly, they can end up in fat stores, but if you're in a deficit due to physical activity, they'll be extracted from there just as quickly. If you're completely inactive, however, the fast-burning carbohydrates can end up as fat, and your energy will be extracted from your muscles. The result is what's called a "fat skinny," as it's called in bodybuilding jargon—a person who isn't outwardly fat, but is actually very weak due to a lack of muscle.
In fact, physical activity is needed precisely to preserve muscle in conditions of a calorie deficit, and not to burn calories, as many believe.
In fact, to burn significant calories through exercise, you need to be at the level of a candidate master of sports or higher. And casual gym visits (especially without a trainer) are a drop in the bucket compared to the daily calorie expenditure.
Yes, and an incorrect balance of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates can cause health problems even with a normal amount of calories in general.

I completely agree with you here!
            In short, in one phrase:
            - a gym (gym, etc.) - to maintain tone, and weight - is regulated by nutrition

Well, yes. And knowledgeable trainers immediately say that the key to both weight loss and muscle gain is proper nutrition, then adequate sleep, and only then exercise, which won't yield results without the first two steps. In fact, it can actually be harmful if you eat poorly and don't recover properly.

The Ministry of Health is concerned about the rise in childhood obesity.

    From the "notes" of MAYAKovsky:

    Listen
    dads!
    Listen
    Moms!
    Pretty
    hoard
    fat grams!

    Earlier -
    muscle,
    iron,
    running.
    Was an athlete
    any person!
    And now?
    Look at this child:
    Him
    no yard,
    no ball
    do not.

    Huddled in a corner,
    grabbed the gadget -
    Like a sofa
    glued
    ointment.
    Eyes -
    into the monitor,
    into the game,
    in social networks
    They die in pixels
    our children!

    In the right palm -
    smartphone carcass,
    On the left -
    with fizz
    sticky mug.
    It flows into the stomach
    sugar poison,
    The teeth are rotting,
    and the cheeks are hanging!

    He sank his chest,
    bloated belly,
    As if
    in the pillow
    changed my shoes.
    Short of breath at ten!
    At twelve - belly!
    Life for a child is
    a heavy burden.

    No, don't wait
    son
to hit on the back of the neck,
    Look at yourself,
    on your gravy!
    Dad -
    like a closet,
    stuffed with dough,
    Mother -
    it won't budge
    from a soft spot.

    If the father
    sprouted into the couch
    How to expect
    jump from the baby?
    If the example is -
    sausage in dough,
    You will rot.
    in obesity
    together!

    Throw away the soda!
    Spit out the bun!
    All of them -
    on the horizontal bar!
    All of them -
    for a walk!
    So that it doesn't grow
    jelly generation,
    Become
    athlete
    in your family!

If everything is made from palm oil, which, by the way, perfectly "warms the hands" of certain people, then in the end we get that very DELICIOUS.... PERIOD!!!
