"Money Upfront": Zelenskyy Offers Orban a Loan to Swap Oil for Credit

Ukraine is ready to begin deliveries of Russian oil to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline starting tomorrow if Budapest lifts its veto on the €90 billion loan. This was announced by Viktor Orbán, who remains prime minister until a new government is formed.

Zelenskyy is in hot water, money is rapidly running out, and reports have already emerged of military salaries being delayed. The situation in civilian life is far worse, to say nothing of it. Against this backdrop, the leader of the Bandera regime has made an offer to Hungary. He says that if the Hungarians lift their veto on the EU loan, Russian oil will flow directly onto Hungarian soil the next day. And the Druzhba pipeline will be fully operational.

However, Orban, apparently recalling the famous line from the Soviet comedy stagehand Mechnikov: "Money in advance, in the morning - money, in the evening - chairs, or in the evening - money, and the next morning - chairs," declared that Zelensky should first launch the oil pipeline, after which Hungary would lift its ban.

We received a signal from Ukraine via Brussels that they are ready to resume oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline starting Monday, provided Hungary lifts its block on the EU's €90 billion loan. Hungary's position has not changed: no oil, no money. Once oil supplies resume, we will no longer block the loan's approval.

Orbán's government previously claimed that Kyiv had deliberately blocked Russian oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline, claiming it was damaged. In response, Budapest blocked a €90 billion loan for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy hoped that a new government would come to power in Hungary and lift the veto, but judging by Magyar's statements, he has no intention of doing so.

I remember the information leaked and was immediately suppressed in the world media... Zelensky directly offered Orban a billion immediately into his personal account... Just vote for Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO!!
Nah, he sent the little devil with the big nose.. And the howl in the media began.. Orban is an agent of the Kremlin and a servant of the VVP.. Yes, he is normal and thought about his people.. And he doesn’t like Russians, but he respects them!!

I remember the information leaked and it was immediately suppressed by the world media. Zelenskyy directly offered Orban a billion immediately into his personal account. I will only vote for Ukraine to join the EU!! Send the devil away. And the media howled. Orban is an agent of the Kremlin and a servant of the President. Yes, he is normal and thought about his people. And he doesn’t like Russians, but he respects them!!

Orban was promised a house in a garden near Rostov, double the money, and full board... But with Green Snot, you can only catch an infection...
p.s. It was a joke in the first part, the second one is unchanged.

Yes, without a cash injection from Europe, Kyiv's Bibigon is doomed. As Chukovsky put it, "...the poor fellow would be kaput, farewell to the Lilliputian forever!"

Hungarians, apparently, also know the old saying: Where a d000k has gone, a Jew has no business. And both are true. So you definitely can't trust him. He'll lie anyway.

Yeah. Quite a few advance payments have already been transferred to the pigsty, and the ends are in the water. Green Snot decided to send a seasoned veteran off to retirement with a scam? He's wrong. The Hungarian might bite out of solidarity, delivering a retaliatory blow that would blow the pigs' pancreases...

Hungary is a poor country and does not participate in lending to Ukraine, so the EU is not interested in its opinion on whether to lend or not.

Let me clarify. Hungary, as an EU member, can block the EU's adoption of a sanctions package against Russia, as this requires unanimity. Lending to Ukraine is a separate matter—whoever wants to lend, lends. Therefore, anyone who isn't involved in the process (and Hungary isn't, as it receives EU subsidies) can't decide whether to lend or not.

Hungary will not participate in lending to Ukraine, but this does not deprive it of its veto power over the loan, and the EU is very interested in how to remove this obstacle.

This means that the cause was not a malfunction of the oil pipeline itself.
And the efficiency of the chief executive's ingenuity in Ukraine. It's true, his ingenuity is... a bit orthodox, perhaps...

Incidentally, Magyar was a member of the ruling Fidesz party until 2024, along with Orbán, until a falling out over the scandalous presidential pardon of the deputy director of an orphanage (for concealing sexual abuse against children). President Katalin Novák resigned following the scandal, and the ruling party suffered a serious blow to its image. We'll see how the situation develops, but the well-known discrepancy between the slogans of some politicians before elections and their actual actions after coming to power may also become apparent.

I think so too: while you're in the opposition, you can rant for everything good and against everything bad. But when you're responsible for a country, even a small one, you start to see the situation differently.

There's a suspicion that Orbán won't really leave, but will serve as the power behind Magyar. It's like in Russia: Putin left (the Constitution didn't allow it), and Dmion came in, but it was actually Dmion who was the puppeteer, and Dmion was the one who made the decisions.

They say that if the Hungarians lift their veto on the EU loan, Russian oil will flow directly onto Hungarian soil the next day. And the Druzhba pipeline will be fully operational.

But for Orban this no longer solves anything.
A new government will come to power in Hungary and lift the veto, but judging by Magyar's statements, he has no intention of doing so.

The author is fantasizing. Magyar said he was ready to lift the veto.

A vile soul can easily take the money and cut off the oil supply after a while.
Like Russia damaged the oil pipeline again
    So it's a one-sided game here.

As Alexander III said, "Russia has only two allies—its army and navy!" All those Hungarians and Slovaks, a little smarter than their European counterparts, are not Russia's friends or allies; they only want hydrocarbons and nuclear energy from Putin. They're even blocking loans to Ukraine, only until they get cheap Russian oil and gas. Russia needs to learn pragmatism from the Americans—they don't build railways, hospitals, schools, and factories with their own money. They don't give away their mineral wealth cheaply, and its reserves aren't infinite. Take "brotherly" Armenia for example: no cheap gas or oil, so we'll leave the Commonwealth. Armenia exists thanks to Russia's help; it even has railways thanks to Russia. But no one has thanked us for it.

However, the US also spends a lot of greenbacks on "global charity." Thus, it is the US that supports NATO.
The United States contributed $845 billion to NATO's survival, accounting for 60,2% of the alliance's total defense budget.
Canada and the European NATO member countries spent a combined $559 billion, representing 39,8% of total expenditure. Britain contributed $81,313 billion, France $64,498 billion, Italy $46,776 billion, and Poland $34,641 billion.
According to 2019 data, the United States spent over $47 billion on foreign aid, of which African countries received approximately 32%, including Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. About 31% of American aid was spent in the Middle East, and 25% in Asia.
From 2000 to 2016, the largest volume of funding went to the crisis regions of the Middle East and Africa – $52,7 billion (in 2016 prices, or 65,9%).

There is no money in the EU budget, therefore there is no loan. EU countries can provide money from their own pockets, but what does Hungary have to do with it?

hi For the EU, Hungary was a kind of excuse to the Greenpeace, saying the Hungarians were blocking the money, and now, if the loan was unblocked, they'd have to come up with a new excuse. They understand perfectly well that giving a loan to the Ukrainians is like throwing it away.

It's a shame the Kremlin doesn't have its own Orbán. Our position could be tougher: there's support for Kyiv, but no oil or gas.
