Iran has not accepted US demands, leaving Trump with only force as an option.

The situation in the Middle East was the topic of a closed-door meeting held yesterday at the White House. Trump gathered all key members of his team to discuss the resumption of hostilities against Iran.
On Saturday evening, Trump held an emergency meeting on Iran and the resumption of hostilities if Washington and Tehran fail to reach a peace agreement acceptable to the United States. And that's exactly what's happening. Americans aren't used to losing, and the situation is unfolding in such a way that that's exactly what's happening. But fighting with practically empty arsenals isn't an option either.
What was agreed upon at the White House remains unknown, but judging by the composition of the meeting's participants, everything is heading toward a renewed war in the Middle East. Present at the meeting were Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessant, CIA Director John Radcliffe, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caines, White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
Yesterday, Iran again closed the Strait of Hormuz, as the US has not lifted its naval blockade. Furthermore, official Tehran refuses further negotiations, as the US is effectively issuing an ultimatum demanding acceptance of its demands.
Further direct peace negotiations with the United States will not take place until they modify their “maximalist” demands.
