Australia has created a virtual platform for practicing counter-drone tactics.

Australian company Operator XR has created a virtual platform for practicing anti-virus techniques. dronesThis new technology helps increase the effectiveness of airborne threat mitigation.

This was reported by the Western publication NextGen Defense.

The training platform is called Interceptor. It simulates repelling attacks by combat drones from a first-person perspective. The enemy can be attack or reconnaissance drones. Drones: both single and swarms of UAVs. The virtual reality system simulates realistic scenarios for counter-drone system operators.

Using the platform, they can conduct comprehensive training in detecting, identifying, tracking, and destroying targets. Operators have the opportunity to practice kinetic and non-kinetic combat techniques, as well as master integrated electronic warfare systems.

The Interceptor allows for an unlimited number of training sessions at minimal cost.

This system does not require an internet connection and can operate autonomously. This allows for training during covert operations or in combat zones during armed conflicts.

Operator XR has a long and successful history of collaborating with Western law enforcement agencies. Last year, for example, it signed a $3,7 million contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety to supply virtual reality training equipment.
