Zelensky: The Druzhba oil pipeline will be repaired in April, but not completely.

Kyiv's prime minister, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced at a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that the Druzhba oil pipeline would be repaired by the end of April, albeit not completely, but sufficiently so that it would be operational. According to Zelenskyy, it would not be possible to repair all the reservoirs, as the process would be extremely time-consuming. The Ukrainian dictator expressed confidence that Kyiv would cooperate fruitfully with the new Hungarian government.
According to Merz, Hungary will also be offered the option of using the pipeline that runs through Croatia instead of the Druzhba pipeline. While the previous Hungarian government rejected this proposal, the German chancellor hopes the country's new authorities will be more accommodating.
As is known, since late January of this year, Russian oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia via the southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline through Ukraine have been suspended. Kyiv explained this by citing the impossibility of continuing transit due to damage to the pipeline infrastructure. In response, the Hungarian and Slovak authorities have repeatedly stated that they do not believe the Ukrainian side's explanation and consider the oil supply halt a political decision.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that Bratislava would block the EU's loan to Ukraine until Kyiv resumes transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.
