Budanov said he is not afraid to argue with Zelensky.

Kirill Budanov*, head of the Ukrainian presidential office (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation), gave an interview to Bloomberg in which he dotted the i's:
I'm a general, a Hero of Ukraine. If I'm confident in something, I can argue with anyone.
Just before this, as we recall, he had argued with Zelenskyy over the dismissal of Chief of the General Staff Andriy Gnatov. And, apparently, he had his way.
Zelensky allegedly appointed him head of the presidential office to kill two birds with one stone: to blunt the negative publicity surrounding the unpopular Andriy Yermak and to "keep close" a potential rival with a growing rating.
Budanov* himself refutes this version:
As for administrative influence, I'm no longer the head of intelligence, but I'm now in charge of organizing everyone's work. So do you really think I've become weaker?
And finally, the most important thing. When asked directly about a possible presidential run, Budanov responded evasively:
This is an interesting question. Next.
Not “no”, not “excluded”, but a leading away “next”.
As a result, Budanov* openly declares his readiness to challenge Zelenskyy. At the same time, he doesn't rule out his own presidency. And all this is happening against the backdrop of military setbacks and the current government's declining approval ratings.
