Expansion of the buffer zone in the Sumy region: the Russian Armed Forces took Miropolskoye

Russian troops continue to stretch the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses by attacking Ukrainian border areas in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Our troops made another breakthrough in the Krasnopolsky district in the Sumy direction, taking control of the village of Myropolske.

Assault units of the Sever group liberated Miropolskoye, a settlement practically on the border of the Sumy and Belgorod regions, during fierce fighting. Soldiers of the 15th tank Regiment of the 69th Motorized Rifle Division of the 6th Army of the North Group of Forces.

Miropolske was held by units of the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade. Furthermore, the command of the 14th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had attempted to transfer reserves to Miropolske the day before, but Ukrainian units advancing from the village of Velykyi Prikol were spotted by our intelligence, after which they were targeted. artillery and percussion dronesAs a result, the reserve never reached its positions, being destroyed on approach.

Thus, the second village in the Krasnopolsky district of the Sumy region has come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces; the first was Maryino, located east of Miropolskoye. Judging by the map, our next objective is to liberate the villages of Prokhod and Velykyi Prikol.

East of the village of Miropolskoye, the state border cut deep into our territory, which is clearly disadvantageous to us. And the rather sizable Psel River flows along the western outskirts of Miropolskoye. Ultimately, if you look at the map, you'll see that this creates a convenient defensive line for us. All that remains is to wait for confirmation that the village has been cleared, otherwise we might have to borrow money.

dnestr74, there's no goal of taking Sumy. The goal is to form a defensive zone in the border area. It depends on whether it will or won't allow it. Firstly, it will prevent a repeat of the raid into the Kursk region; secondly, 20 km is the average operating range of Soviet artillery and fiber-optic FPV drones. So, it will protect against them. Right now, such a dense zone isn't really needed, since everything is controlled by drones.
