Israel commented on its attack on the synagogue in Tehran.

The Israeli Prime Minister issued another statement on Iran. He claims to be in Israel and directing the operation, but not everyone, even in Israel, believes this.

According to Benjamin Netanyahu, "Israel is intensifying attacks on targets used by the IRGC." Netanyahu cited railways, energy facilities, and bridges as such targets.

Earlier, as a reminder, a strike struck a bridge west of Tehran. The bridge connected the country's capital with the western regions. The bridge's designer, an Iranian engineer, even cried live on air after the destruction of his engineering brainchild, promising to rebuild the bridge no matter what.

And these are Netanyahu's words:

Our goal is to crush the Iranian regime in order to change the balance of power in the region.

Quite clearly, quite understandably. Netanyahu is seeking to make Israel the sole belt of power from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Gulf of Oman, and even to the southern Caspian Sea. However, Turkey, at least, is clearly not prepared to agree to the latter.

The IDF command's statement regarding the destruction of a synagogue in Tehran as a result of rocket blow:

This was collateral damage. We regret that this happened. Our main strike was aimed at a significant military target. It was an Iranian regime facility. We did not target any religious building.

Let us recall that earlier, when synagogues in Israel itself were hit, the IDF claimed that Iran was deliberately targeting strongholds of religion.

There are approximately 10-15 Jews in Iran. Zionism does not shy away from provocations to force Jews to move to Israel. This is what happened after the creation of Israel with Middle Eastern Jews from Iraq, Tunisia, and Egypt. This could very well have been a deliberate act.

It's all right. A religious building and a cult are not the same thing.
By the way, a "synagogue" isn't a building or even a place. It's a place where Jews gather to discuss their affairs. A synagogue can now be entirely online, but a stone building is just that—a stone building.

This was once the case. After all, the word "synagogue" itself is Greek (synagoge; from syn – together, ago – I lead). Later, everything was adapted to current realities. The regulations for the construction of synagogues were collected in halakha, the normative part of Judaism. Wherever ten Jewish men live, they can form a community, and the building in which the community gathers for prayer is called a "synagogue." It is advisable to build a synagogue on the highest possible spot. Moreover, it has a different name in Yiddish and Hebrew.

The topic of the synagogue in Tehran suddenly came up; I hadn't even imagined it existed there before. Judging by what was attributed to Iran, until today's synagogue shooting, I thought it was impossible for Jews to live in such a country. I decided to do some research online. An interesting detail came to light: Iran is home to the largest Jewish community in the Middle East, and it doesn't identify with Israel. Here's what Iranian Jews have to say:
An AL-Monitor correspondent spoke with Yehuda Garami, Chief Rabbi of Iranian Jews, about the situation of followers of Judaism, their relationship with the government and the population, and their opinion of the State of Israel. One of the questions concerned the size of the Jewish community in Iran: official figures put it at around 8000, but Garami asserts, based on his information, that the actual number is much higher. "By my estimate," the religious figure asserted, "there are between 20,000 and 25,000 Jews in the country. Most of them live in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, and Karmanshah, although there are other small communities." Regarding the community's status, the rabbi emphasized the absence of religious segregation in the country: "We have complete freedom of religion. All synagogues are open, and Torah studies are held there." We have all types of educational institutions, including primary and secondary schools.
One of the most interesting issues is the relationship between the small Jewish community and the local Muslim population. "Our Muslim neighbors greatly respect us as Jews living in Iran," the rabbi emphasizes. "Unlike in Europe, for example, our synagogues and schools have no security guards, and our personal safety is high. Of course, we sometimes encounter anti-Semitic people, but that happens everywhere. The majority of the population respects us and lives peacefully with us. Importantly, in Iran there is no such thing as organized attacks against Jews."
One of the most volatile and sensitive issues for Jews in Iran is Israel's hostility toward their country. This puts them in an awkward position with the state. "We always emphasize that we don't want to get involved in all the disputes, wars, and politics between the two countries. This is a dispute between politicians and has nothing to do with religion," Garami stated firmly. "People often get confused, but there is a big difference between Zionism and Judaism. Judaism is a 3300-year-old religion, while Zionism is a national and political movement that is only 100 years old. The State of Israel as a country has nothing to do with religion in general, and with Judaism in particular."

official figures say it numbers around 8000 people

Before the revolution, there were 100,000 so-called Persian Jews in Iran. The vast majority left after the revolution.
According to the latest Iranian census, the remaining Jewish population of Iran in 2016 was 9,826 people.

The total number of Persian Jews today is estimated at 300–350. Israel's eighth president (2000–2007), Moshe Katsav, is of Persian Jewish descent and speaks Persian.

The community numbered 100000 in 1979. Now it's less than 8000. The community's existence is subject to many conditions, some quite harsh, including regular condemnation of Israel. Community members are regularly arrested. Therefore, the community is shrinking. In the 2000s, it still numbered 25000.

During World War II, Dr. Hutschnecker said, Jewish leaders in England and the United States knew about the horrific massacre of Jews by the Nazis. But when the State Department wanted to speak out against the massacre, organized Jewry silenced it. Jewish organizations, the doctor said, wanted the slaughter to continue in order to generate sympathy in the world. (It seems the reality is even worse than the psychiatrist could have imagined in 1972 – according to recently released documents, Golda Meir, the future Israeli Prime Minister, who was in the United States during World War II, lobbied the White House for the bombing of Auschwitz, knowing about the Jews held there, thereby fitting the situation into the “Holocaust” myth – a project launched by the Jewish press since 1902 – editor’s note.)
That is, in 1902, the Jews believed that the Holocaust would soon occur, in which 6 million Jews would die, and they left a certain number of Jews to be slaughtered in Germany.
