Israel has sent troops into southern Lebanon, launching a new ground military operation.

Israel has launched a limited military operation against Lebanese Hezbollah, sending troops into southern Lebanon. This was announced in a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson's Office.

On March 14, the Israeli army began "limited and targeted" raids into southern Lebanon with the aim of destroying Hezbollah's "key strongholds." Units of the 91st HaGalil Territorial Division, part of the Northern Command, crossed the border today. The division's mission is to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure to reduce the threat to northern Israel.

These actions are part of a larger defensive effort to establish and strengthen a frontline defense, including the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and the elimination of terrorists operating in the area in order to eliminate threats and create an additional layer of security for residents of northern Israel.

Ground operation, participation aviation It is intended solely to provide cover for the troops that will methodically clear southern Lebanon. According to the Israeli command, a buffer zone should be created in southern Lebanon, preventing Hezbollah from launching attacks on northern Israel.

It was previously reported that Lebanon's Hezbollah sided with Iran in launching strikes against Israel following the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

        It's more complicated here...

There are many Christians living in southern Lebanon (Christians make up over 30% of the Lebanese population). They have no connection to Hezbollah, yet they are under pressure. So where is the "international community"? Where are the protests from Christian leaders?
Unfortunately, Lebanon cannot respond to Israel in any significant way.

Southern Lebanon has a large Christian population (Christians make up more than 30% of Lebanon's population)

Christians, including Orthodox Christians, do not live in the Shiite south. See the map. Some Shiites live in the southern suburbs of Beirut, where Hezbollah headquarters and leadership are located and which periodically bombs Lebanon. Before the civil war, up to 70% of Lebanon's population was Christian.

Nothing. During the "peace" and ceasefire, Israel carried out about 60 airstrikes against Hezbollah's border defenses. That's the kind of "peace" it was. In other words, Israel was fighting in Lebanon the entire time.

It's been Israel's long-held dream to seize southern Lebanon. Previously, Hawez al-Assad stood in their way. Now, there's no one. And the Americans, in my humble opinion, are preparing to seize Kharg Island—the "sea gateway" to Iranian oil. Their AI is making smart plans.
    Sincerely

This is supposedly being done quietly, while Iran has its hands full. But fellow Israelis, your territory is being shot through and through by everything that flies...

Just like this little island. There they'll all become the two-hundredth. And the next ones will be those who try to take them out.
