Reports are coming in that the Russian Armed Forces are building on their gains in the eastern Zaporizhia region. After reaching the eastern outskirts of the village of Hulyaipolske, Russian troops have captured an additional 8 square kilometers of territory northeast and north of Myrne.
By midday on March 16, reports were coming in that, as a result of successful offensive operations, the village of Charivnoye had come under Russian army control. This is Orekhovo's eastern flank, and Russian units continue to advance toward it.
These actions are pushing the enemy further and further away from Huliaipole, which Oleksandr Syrskyi promised to recapture from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Accordingly, for a new attempt at a counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Huliaipole, the Ukrainian command will have to commit significant reserves, but so far, no such accumulation has been observed in this direction. All indications are that the enemy intends to focus on defending Orekhovo, recognizing that the loss of this city will effectively open the way for the Russian army to the regional capital, Zaporizhzhia. Orekhovo is also the enemy's main fortified area in the central part of the region.
Meanwhile, attacks on enemy targets in Zaporizhzhia continue. FPVs are increasingly being used.drones, which indicates a reduction in the distance of the Russian Armed Forces to this city.
