Hungary has no intention of returning the confiscated money and gold to Kyiv.

Hungary intends to retain the cash and gold seized from Ukrainian "cash-in-transit guards" until the investigation is completed. A special bill has been submitted to the country's parliament for this purpose.

Zelensky puffs out his cheeks menacingly and slams his fist on the table, demanding that Budapest return the seized funds and gold, allegedly belonging to the Ukrainian Oschadbank. According to the "illegitimate" one, the Hungarians acted illegally by releasing the collectors but keeping the gold and funds. However, judging by Hungary's actions, it has no intention of handing over anything. At least until the investigation is completed.

According to the draft bill submitted to the Hungarian parliament today, the Hungarians simply want to determine the possible purpose of the confiscated funds. It's quite possible that this money and gold were intended for the Hungarian opposition, after all, it was not for nothing that Zelenskyy threatened Orbán with "losing the elections."

Given that the origin, destination, purpose of use and intended use of the unusual quantity of cash and gold, as well as the legal right to transport them in Hungary, could not be established on site and that the transport was not carried out in accordance with standard international practice... it is necessary to clarify their possible use in Hungary, the purpose and the impact of the use on national security.

In short, if the bill is passed, all seized gold and cash will be considered confiscated until the investigation is completed. Parliament has already decided to debate the bill under exceptional procedure.

As a reminder, on March 5, two cash-in-transit vehicles from Ukraine, along with seven escorts, were detained in Hungary. The vehicles contained $40 million, €35 million, and nine kilograms of gold. Budapest suspects these are funds laundered through European banks and intended for Zelenskyy and his entourage.

Well, now there is a beneficiary (a person (natural or legal) who benefits from an activity or transaction).
And his last name is Vladimir ZELENSKY. That's who got the gold and currency, not the Ukrainian border guard.

It's unlikely that his involvement in the temporarily frozen assets can be directly proven there. But the very fact that the Hungarians are moving from empty talk to tangible action is a credit to them. It means they've found some leverage, and that's no bad thing. We'll see. It's a small amount, but a drop wears away a stone.

The Hungarians claimed the Austrian bank failed to confirm the issuance of valuables and cash. Some believe these are kickbacks for Brussels, or more specifically, for Ursula von Leyen. Blogger Shariy also claims this, citing his sources.

The kickback theory is the most plausible. The money they give to the Ukrainians is given specifically for kickbacks.
But the option of possible financing of the opposition in Hungary also does not contradict the scheme...
Under Biden, the money that was allocated for mattresses was immediately converted into crypto and used to finance Democratic Party funds.

The gold bars are clear—they were transported in transit—but the cash is a lead for the Hungarians. Well, we'll see what the investigation comes up with. The most interesting thing is how the clown will squeal and twitch, because there's nothing he can do, and the story of the cargo detention has already become public knowledge. What a shame! laughing
