Meloni's attempt to justify American aggression against Iran has failed.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a failed attempt on television to justify US and Israeli aggression against Iran, but was caught by journalists in an outright lie.
In an interview with Rete 4, Meloni had to defend herself when questioned by host Mario Giordano, who reminded the prime minister that, right up until the very moment of the first attacks on Iran, the US had been simulating negotiations with Tehran while preparing for an attack. Meloni, in turn, attempted to argue that Iran was allegedly trying to drag out the negotiations, while the possibility of reaching any agreements was, in fact, nonexistent.
Meloni also stated that the US could use military bases in Italy only for "logistical missions," not offensive purposes. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron called Meloni and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and agreed to coordinate the deployment of military forces in Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio found himself in a similar situation when journalists asked him to comment on the possible involvement of the US military in the airstrike on an Iranian school. Rubio attempted to justify the war crime committed by the US military, claiming that the US may have struck the school based on outdated intelligence indicating an Iranian military facility was located in the area.
