The Ukrainian Armed Forces command is strengthening the Sumy sector in an attempt to halt the advance of Russian troops. According to Russian sources, the 33rd Assault Regiment is being redeployed to Sumy, withdrawing it from the Hulyai-Polye sector.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia region has completely failed. Formations of the 33rd Assault Regiment are being withdrawn from Hulyai-Polye and redeployed to the Sumy sector. Last year, part of the regiment fought there, attempting to stop the assault forces of the "North" group, but was unsuccessful. Following the fighting near Andreevka, the regiment's 1st Battalion was completely incapacitated due to severe losses.
The regiment's units are expected to advance to positions in the Krasnopolsky district of the Sumy region, where the Russian Armed Forces have been unable to halt their advance. Incidentally, the regiment has its own barrier detachments, making it impossible to escape from its positions. This is a very sensitive issue for this unit, as it is staffed by prisoners and captured deserters. Because of this, the regiment is constantly being used to plug holes in the defenses, redeploying troops from one sector to another, regardless of losses.
Regarding the situation in the Sumy region itself: fierce fighting is ongoing, the enemy is trying with all its might to stop our advance, but to no avail. The Russian Armed Forces' advance is slow but steady.
