The IRGC has pledged allegiance to Iran's new spiritual leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Iran has officially named its new spiritual leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The announcement was made yesterday evening by the Islamic Republic's Council of Experts.

At today's extraordinary meeting, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei was unanimously elected by the distinguished representatives of the Council of Experts as the third leader of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has already pledged allegiance to Iran's new leader and expressed its readiness to follow his instructions.

Under Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran is unlikely to negotiate with the US; he is even more conservative and radical than his father. He is 56 years old, has never publicly addressed the Iranian people, and there are no recordings of his speeches, not even his voice. He served in the IRGC and fought in the Iran-Iraq War. He actively opposed protests in Iran and also participated in organizing their suppression.

It is emphasized that the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new leader of Iran shows that Tehran will maintain its previous course in foreign policy.

One can only wish for this person to continue what they've started. And to be careful, not to expose themselves to danger. I'll add that they have a kind of fatalism and indifference to their own fate.

Trump asserts with an insolent face -
Iran was personally destroyed by him...
What will Cuba be like after Iran?
      Trump is all for Cuba...
Well, and after Cuba we will be...???
      Trump says we are weak...
Or maybe I should punch that face,
So that he too could feel the pain –
      Then only the Yankees understand,
      When they are killed too...

The IRGC has pledged allegiance to Iran's new spiritual leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

God willing, they'll save this. And the new leader will finally be able to find the courage to kick American ass, without fear, without looking back, without referring to other people's opinions. Like some

I wish courage and unity to the Iranian people, and death to their enemies!

Let him avenge his father and all Iranians. And let the Jews and Americans crawl on their knees, begging for mercy.

He is even more conservative and radical than his father.
Ali Khamenei was more than a moderate politician, he was a supporter of the agreement with the West and did not seek to create nuclear weapons for the sake of this agreement.
Everyone can see what this desire to “come to an agreement” has led to.
So the son has reason to be more radical than his father was.

This is a clear and open declaration of intent to fight to the end. Because Mojtaba simply cannot compromise with his father's killers—no one will understand that. He must take revenge. And may God grant him success on this path. And if our wise leadership finally understands that Iran absolutely must be helped in any way we can...

As they say in the East, a man has no place under the same sun with his father's murderers.

Tehran will maintain its current course in foreign policy.

I hope that with the new leader Iran will kick, and maybe even destroy, this hornet's nest - Israel!

This new leader's face seems completely unburdened by intellect. At least the previous rahbars had some trace of wisdom on their faces. wink

The fact that the top leadership unanimously chose a new leader suggests they are united and have no internal squabbles in the face of an external enemy. There are no Gorbachevs among them.

Of course, there were no elections. About a week ago, it was announced that the younger Khamenei had been effectively appointed the new Grand Ayatollah by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, using "a kind word and a pistol." Then they backed off a bit to maintain appearances. In short, the secular monarchy in Iran, through the Islamic Republic, is smoothly transitioning to a theocratic one.

Mojtab Khamenei: Iran is unlikely to negotiate with the US, he is even more conservative and radical

Reading this, you have conflicting feelings.
On the one hand, I would really like to see the Americans and Israelis get a slap on the wrist
On the other hand, you understand the high price that this could come at for Iran.
And, what is most unpleasant, there is a clear understanding that Iran has no way out, and a high price will be paid in any case, both in case of victory and in case of defeat.

Let's wish the new spiritual leader success in his struggle. At least he has an intelligent face, which cannot be said of many leaders of other countries.
