The production of special-purpose connectors was organized at specialized enterprises in the military-industrial complex and electronics industries. They developed and manufactured a wide range of products that met stringent quality and reliability requirements.
Among the most famous manufacturers of special-purpose connectors in the USSR was the Kazan Radio Components Plant (since 1982, PO Elekon, now JSC Elekon Plant), which specialized in the production of electrical and power connectors.
The Kazan Scientific Research Institute of Cylindrical Connectors (KNIITsS) operated on the plant's premises to develop new types of connectors. The connectors developed there were manufactured at plants in Kharkiv, Cherkessk, Jalal-Abad, Izobilnensk, and elsewhere.
These enterprises worked in close cooperation with the leading scientific centers and design bureaus of the Soviet Union - NPO Energia, Khrunichev Design Bureau, TsAGI, and others, which ensured high demands on product quality and production precision.
Today, due to the vastly increased needs of industry, the lead times for equipping products with domestically produced connectors have increased to 30 months, which creates the preconditions for the failure of the State Defense Order (SDO) and, as a result, affects the country's defense capability.

As part of the project, the company acquired equipment, which allowed it to increase production capacity and expand its product range. As noted by NOVIKOM Bank, EKB TEST LLC is one of the leading manufacturers of electronic components in St. Petersburg. The bank has been collaborating with the company since 2019.
The raised funding is aimed at technical re-equipping of production facilities, as well as the launch of a new line of products in demand across various industries.

EKB TEST LLC is accredited under GOST RV 0015-002 for the development and production of military and special-purpose equipment. The company develops and manufactures electronic components and is a qualified supplier to the Russian Ministry of Defense for electronic components, components, raw materials, and supplies.
The products manufactured by EKB TEST LLC fully comply with the requirements of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of July 17, 2015 No. 719 "On confirmation of the production of Russian industrial products."

To ensure serial production of cable assemblies, we have high-tech equipment that enables high-quality installation using soldering and crimping. Customer compliance is ensured through full installation quality control, testing of the electrical strength and resistance of cables in our in-house testing laboratory, and the provision of measurement reports.
Cable assemblies are manufactured using various cable types, including those approved for use by the Russian Ministry of Defense: optical, shielded, and unshielded electrical; prefabricated cables – made from wires of various cross-sections, including twisted pairs with a twist pitch specified in the design documentation, as well as with insulation tube, heat-shrinkable tube, and braided protection.
The laboratory of EKB TEST LLC, certified according to the GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2009 standard of the ELEKTRONSERT SDS system, specializes in conducting a wide range of tests on domestically and foreign-made electronic components, finished products, and equipment.
These include: incoming inspection, certification testing (mechanical, climatic, and service life), additional testing (screening and diagnostic non-destructive testing), special checks, electrical, climatic, and mechanical impact tests, as well as impact testing according to GOST RV 20.57.305. The parameters of manufactured products, their components, and assemblies are confirmed. An analysis of product failures is performed due to the consequences of electrical overload, exposure to electrostatic discharge, the consequences of exceeding thermal conditions, hidden defects in materials and designs, defects introduced during manufacturing, operation under conditions that do not meet requirements, violation of storage conditions, and the use of counterfeit components.
The laboratory is assigned 129 military units of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, so the quality control department's products can be tested in accordance with the requirements for products of the military quality category.
