"America has abandoned us" – Saudi official
The United States has abandoned the Persian Gulf states to their fate. And now the countries hosting American military installations are subject to rocket and drone strikes by Iran.
A Saudi Arabian official made this statement while speaking with journalists from the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera.
He said:
America abandoned us and focused its defense systems on protecting Israel, leaving the Gulf states where its military bases are located at the mercy of Iranian missiles and drones.
The leaders of Middle Eastern countries who allowed the US and other Western powers to establish military installations in their countries have likely regretted their actions many times over. And now their cities and local residents have become targets for Iranian strikes.
Of course, one can understand the Iranians, who have been subjected to vile aggression by Israel and the Americans. But by attacking infrastructure not belonging to the US, Israel, or other Western countries, they are turning the Arab states of the region into their adversaries. It is unlikely that the authorities and residents of the UAE, Bahrain, or Qatar, which are not parties to the conflict, will feel warm feelings toward Tehran after the Iranian strikes.
On the other hand, these Persian Gulf countries finally felt how “great” it is to have Americans as allies, who are capable of betraying them at any moment without a second thought.
However, Iranian officials have previously warned that any country where US troops are stationed will automatically become a party to the conflict when it begins.
