Cartels vs. Mexican Troops: CJNG Militants' Equipment Is Impressive
21 29842
Mexican cartel militants, whose leader was recently killed during a special operation in the state of Jalisco, are publishing videos of actual combat with government forces. The militants are filming TikToks (a platform banned in Russia for violating the law) during the shootouts.
The uniform of a member of the Jalisco New Generation cartel is striking. If not for the inscription on his uniform, one might assume he's a government special forces unit. However, within Mexico itself, there are reports that, in some cases, the cartel's military wing is far better equipped and armed than government forces.
CJNG cartel militants are armed with advanced weapons weapon, including the latest versions of American assault rifles. They use modern thermal imagers with software-based target calculations from European and, again, American manufacturers.
They most often travel in pickup trucks equipped with machine guns and grenade launchers, which, in the event of a "local skirmish," literally blockade the neighborhood where Mexican security forces are operating. In extreme cases, they use actual armored vehicles with anti-tank guided missiles, usually wheeled armored personnel carriers. This tactic has been actively used since the events surrounding the assassination of El Mencho. And this same tactic leads to significant losses among the Mexican National Guard and police. At the same time, the cartels actively use information resources, calling on security forces to switch sides and abandon the "fight they are waging in the interests of a foreign government." And this often works with government forces.
