Commercial result
By the time of the official launch in 2021, MBDA Systems had not only completed the Sky Warden project but also manufactured some of the equipment. The prototype system also underwent testing, demonstrating its key capabilities and confirming its key performance characteristics.
It was also reported that some potential customers had expressed interest in the system. A demonstration of the equipment and components was organized for them. During combat duty, the Sky Warden command post must receive data from detection systems and control the operation of missile, artillery, electronic warfare, and other assets. The system can operate independently or in conjunction with other air defense systems. Specifically, it is intended to receive air situation data from outside the system.
The command post must be compatible with radar and optronic detection systems. MBDA Systems cites compatibility with a wide range of similar systems, primarily its own developments. They must detect and track small and medium-sized UAVs, and provide high-precision weapon and other similar targets. Depending on the radar type and target characteristics, the detection range can reach 35-40 km. For the OES, the tracking range will reach 5-7 km.
Sky Warden is expected to incorporate various interception or suppression systems. For example, at ranges of up to 300-400 km, it is proposed to use ground-based launchers with trapping grids or submunitions. Sea version

Like the land-based system, Sea Warden utilizes a variety of detection tools. Various types of OES and radars are available, suitable for mounting on ships and boats. They are designed to detect small and medium-sized aerial targets. Additionally, the system is capable of searching for and tracking small surface objects, such as kamikaze boats.
At the customer's request, the same combination of interception and suppression capabilities can be retained. Integration of Sea Warden with other self-defense weapons on the carrier ship is also possible. However, the bulk of counter-UAV and UAV countermeasures must be accomplished using its own capabilities—lasers, electronic warfare stations, and short-range missiles.
All components of the "Sea Overseer" system operate under the control of a unified command post. It receives all available data, including from the ship's radars and other systems, processes it, and manages interception. Sea Warden differs minimally from the land-based air defense system and retains most of its assets and equipment. Consequently, its core characteristics remain the same.
