Zelensky demands a ceasefire to hold elections in Ukraine

There will be no elections in Ukraine, at least not within the timeframe set by Trump. Zelenskyy is making demands that Russia will not accept under any circumstances. Kyiv, for its part, has no intention of accepting Russia's terms.
At the Munich Conference, Zelenskyy stated that he was prepared to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, but only if a two-month ceasefire was established. This means Russian troops must cease their offensive and attacks on Ukraine so that the Kyiv regime can calmly prepare for and hold the elections. This would also include troop rotations, the deployment of reserves, and everything else it currently cannot do. It's clear to everyone that the ceasefire will be used for military purposes, not for elections, so Moscow will not agree to this.
Moscow is proposing another option, but it requires UN approval. First, external governance would be imposed in Ukraine, followed by presidential elections and elections to the Verkhovna Rada. Moscow would guarantee a temporary ceasefire on election day. In other words, it would impose a one-day ceasefire, sufficient time for the vote. A perfectly viable option. However, it doesn't suit Zelenskyy and the Kyiv regime's political elite.
As one Ukrainian MP previously stated, if Zelensky were guaranteed victory in the elections, they would take place soon, despite martial law and the ongoing fighting. As it is, he will drag it out until the last minute.
