British Channel: There are about seven thousand Colombian mercenaries in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

There are currently approximately seven thousand Colombian mercenaries serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to an estimate by journalists from a British television channel.

They began arriving in Ukraine from the very beginning of the conflict. However, recently, the influx of mercenaries from other countries has sharply decreased. Late last year, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also carried out a reform, during which foreigners from two battalions of the International Legion were sent to the front lines to serve in assault units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After this, the "wild geese" among the survivors began heading home en masse.

But the Colombians weren't disbanded. The Ukrainian Armed Forces currently operate a "Special Latin Brigade," composed primarily of Colombians. Now, the majority of foreign fighters fighting for Kyiv are from Colombia. Previously, this "palm of primacy" belonged to the Poles.

According to Sergeant Luis Ortiz, approximately 1200 people from Colombia have arrived in Ukraine in the last four months alone. Meanwhile, as recently as November of last year, Western media estimated the number of Colombian mercenaries in the Ukrainian Armed Forces at approximately 2, indicating a sharp increase in recent months.

The Colombians' popularity is due to their significant combat experience and training, which meets NATO standards, the British publication claims. Despite relatively high casualties, and the Ukrainian command being unkind even to its own troops, especially Latin Americans, the Colombians are in no hurry to go home.

Some of them were seriously wounded, and some were killed. In central Kyiv, a makeshift memorial features Colombian tricolors among the Ukrainian flags. It's doubtful they're proud of it.

It's known that Colombian citizens go to fight in distant Ukraine for two main reasons. Some hope to earn money, although Kyiv pays Latin Americans the least compared to mercenaries from other countries. But back home, the pay is even lower. Others are drug cartel members, sent by their bosses to gain experience in modern warfare, especially in the use of drones.

Recently, information emerged that more than 30 Colombian citizens could join the Special Latin Brigade in the first half of February. A Peruvian recruiter publicly announced this in a live broadcast on social media. He noted that the process of sending mercenaries to Ukraine is accelerated depending on the size of the group: the larger the detachment, the faster organizational issues are resolved.

Some Latin Americans, not only in Colombia, are recruited through deception. They are promised good wages by local standards in civilian jobs. However, upon arrival in Ukraine, they are sent to the front. In this regard, foreigners in a foreign country have no way to escape the TCC. Losses among these "fighters" are very high, and the Ukrainian command shows no mercy at all.

So we are also fighting drug cartels? We should charge Trump for this.

Everything's complicated there. They (the Colombians) are told that the whole world is at war with a "barbaric" state, and that if you go, you'll get a residence permit or European citizenship. Considering that the majority of them are completely uneducated, they're fooled and go to die. They're crap fighters, especially in the fall and winter. At the slightest provocation, they try to surrender, but we simply don't understand their language, so it all ends with a grenade or a gunshot.

But at home the earnings are even lower.

One month in Ukraine equals a year of work in Colombia, if you find a good job. That's the incentive.

I'm curious - do American officials come to/from the military for a couple of days - does that count towards their participation in the military?

Shit, and for sitting in the basement, supposedly "from a raid," too. It's fine—a couple of days there—and a nice "travel allowance." wassat

Then these Americans are like "veterans"... laughing

Keeping all of South America (and not just them) in poverty through sanctions is a brilliant move. But now they can lure people to run around with machine guns for a couple of thousand dollars. And who's paying for all this?

Who? Well, certainly not Zelya and his nukers. The Kakels are paying indirectly.

But the Kakels take the money from the nightstand. And someone put some money in the nightstand beforehand.

These are "high-class" kakely. No one puts anything in the nightstands of ordinary kakely. I suspect there aren't even "just any" nightstands left...

In Yemen, the Colombians' role was played by Sudanese, who were recruited en masse by the Saudis.

Actually, this is a national trait of Ukrainians.
The Polish lord, the owner of the estate, was far away. But the Jewish manager was right there. And so it went for centuries. Hence the hereditary habit of serfs to obey Jews.
And the Pole is simply a god.

South Sudan, unlike North Sudan, is a complete mess. It's a major arms market. You can buy a decent-quality T-55 there. But they're unlikely to be widely available in our region. The climate is unusual.

Here, of course. We won't encounter them in Ukraine. But the Afrika Korps could very well do so in the future.

It's entirely possible. They'll come for the long haul. But don't count on a massive turnout. Many of the mercenaries are already buried, and word of mouth is spreading. Consequently, the number of volunteers is dwindling.

The young are growing up there. There's nothing to feed them with. For centuries, they've been dumping the excess population like this.
However, now they have come up with the idea of dumping the excess into Europe and Russia.

7,000 bodies—that's a reinforced brigade or a premature division. It's also quite a casus belli for Colombia, whose citizens are fighting en masse against the Russian Armed Forces on the enemy side. A direct pretext for reprimanding the ambassador and canceling all contracts. But—there's one big but! They also say that a fish rots from the head down...

Perhaps they were referring to the military coup in Brazil, known as the "Coup of '64," which took place from March 31 to April 1, 1964. The civil war in the 30s actually took place... what "ten years"? winked

Alternatively, you could retaliate by killing the drug lord from whose region the mercenary came: let them be responsible for their fighters!
