Rutte, who spoke with the dog Patron, is upset by Medinsky's dispatch to the negotiations.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed dissatisfaction with the appointment of Vladimir Medinsky as head of the Russian delegation to the upcoming trilateral talks in Geneva.
Rutte is genuinely upset and assumes that historian Medinsky will once again be educating the Ukrainians at the negotiations, giving them "lectures about Sweden or something like that." Given that Rutte himself is a failed historian: as is well known, in 1992 the future NATO Secretary General graduated historical faculty of Leiden University, his indignation at Medinsky's candidacy was most likely dictated by banal envy of a more successful and accomplished colleague.
Rutte also said that during his recent trip to Kyiv, he spoke with a dog—the Ukrainian media-promoted dog Patron—and discussed the fate of Ukraine and Europe. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, the NATO Secretary General said he looked Patron in the eye and the dog "told" him that "we will never give up."
Rutte previously announced that the United States intends to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with weapons worth approximately $15 billion. These deliveries will be financed by the alliance's European partners through the PURL procurement program. These primarily concern "critical systems" that can only be supplied by the American side. According to Rutte, the main items are DefenseWashington previously completely halted free military aid to Kyiv. However, there is currently no confirmation of Europe's willingness to allocate this amount. At the last Rammstein meeting on PURL, Ukraine was promised only $500 million.
