Ukrainian media outlets are frightening their compatriots with reports of the alleged launch of the Oreshnik missile system.

Ukrainian monitoring resources published several reports throughout the day about the threat of an Oreshnik IRBM launch from the Kapustin Yar test site. Lviv was identified as the most likely target.

However, following the hysteria these reports sparked on Ukrainian social media, no Oreshnik launches or strikes on Ukrainian targets followed. According to enemy sources, the threat of an IRBM launch will persist until February 19, so the population remaining in the "independent" state was advised to closely monitor the alerts. Moreover, both previous Oreshnik deployments and the areas where the IRBMs were used were completely unexpected by the enemy.

Meanwhile, judging by the results of the previous use of the Oreshnik, the kinetic rods simultaneously struck at least two targets located in the suburbs of Lviv and Rudno. This implies that the IRBM carried several blocks of kinetic rods – 6-8 each. After separation from missiles It completed its flight and simultaneously engaged two targets, dropping the prescribed number of payloads on the underground storage facility and the aircraft factory. The demonstration of the capabilities of Russia's latest missile system was more than impressive. Considering that the GZV can also perform complex anti-missile maneuvers, defending against such a strike is virtually impossible.

It was previously reported that Western intelligence agencies continue to search for the Oreshnik system in Belarus using satellites. The system is believed to be located in the Mogilev region at the Krichev Air Base near the city of the same name. Construction work at an abandoned facility led enemy intelligence to this conclusion. Specifically, new buildings have allegedly been erected, and railway tracks and a train station have been restored.

"Oreshnik" is a mobile ground-based complex of medium-range ballistic missiles (MGK MRBM).
It can be quickly transported and deployed anywhere in the country. And it's already being transported and deployed.
What it looks like can easily be seen on Western satellite images from Belarus.
Why is the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine so hung up on Kapustin Yar? It's just test rigs and the infrastructure for them.
All the systems already on combat duty (there are nine of them) and the missiles for them (there are at least twenty of them) are in completely different places.

They write that there was a simulated launch of the Oreshnik.

An air raid alert was issued across the country at 12:24 p.m. on February 12 due to the threat of ballistic missile use, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, warned that Ukrainians should not ignore the alarm, as the threat is real.

At 12:47 p.m., the Air Force updated its information and declared the threat of ballistic missile use over. Air raid alerts were cancelled in most areas.
Andrey Kovalenko explained that instead of a real launch, Russia carried out a simulation.

Continuing with the topic of near space, there's more good news. Russia has seen the maiden flight of the unmanned stratospheric platform "Barrage-1," developed by the Foundation for Advanced Research (FAR). The device is capable of lifting up to 100 kg of payload to an altitude of 20 km.

Unlike conventional aerostats, this platform can maneuver: by changing altitude, it "catches" the right wind currents to move in a given direction or maintain a position over a specific area. Special film materials in the shell allow the device to remain aloft for many days, and potentially even weeks.

The platform is seen as an affordable and effective alternative to expensive satellite constellations. One of the Barrage's priority tasks will be developing 5G NTN communications. Placing transmitters at an altitude of 20 km will provide high-speed internet and communications to vast areas where building ground-based towers is impossible or unprofitable.

Starlink internet speeds are slower than 5G, although for most users they may be similar.

Starlink internet download speeds are 100–200 Mbps, while 5G download speeds are theoretically up to 20 Gbps, but in reality, around 200 Mbps.

The higher the antenna, the further it will reach, replacing satellites. At an altitude of 20 km, communication will be available within a 500-kilometer radius. Two such stratospheric balloons, and you'll have reliable communication from St. Petersburg to Moscow, anywhere along the route.

...and that's exactly it...our "simulating" idiots are starting to move around the airfields, what's moving? hi...reconnaissance fires...and then it's no longer a simulation, but a real launch, where they were moving wink

Russian forces launched a missile strike on the temporary deployment point of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukrainian volunteers reported this, emphasizing that the brigade's headquarters and a large number of personnel were destroyed.

After heavy fighting, the surviving fighters were withdrawn for reinforcement, but volunteers report that Russian intelligence had identified the brigade's temporary deployment point. In fact, according to Ukrainian officials, the Russian Armed Forces didn't even have to make any significant effort to do so, as the location of the temporary deployment point was well known and no one changed it.

There are so many dead. We're running out of bandages and blood. We just don't know what to do.

          – Ukrainian volunteers complain on social networks.

Some people are already impressed, but others aren't particularly noticeable. Apparently, they launched the wrong system.

I read and marvel... They were jumping, shouting, cursing... And now, you see, "Oreshnik" is interfering with their lives. Why scare people with "Oreshnik"? You can't scare them. You have to hit them. And the region is quite "promising." Three regions of Western Ukraine, after a full-scale attack by "Oreshnik," will turn into a wonderful "buffer zone." Not to mention the Banderites—even cockroaches—will run away.

There's just one problem: the US Navy needs to be warned about the launch of the RS-26 IRBM, otherwise the early warning system will give the launch signal and things might not go well.

Why only until February 19th? What if the weather isn’t suitable for flying?
