Sweden will send JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets to Greenland "to counter Russia."

Sweden has officially confirmed that JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets will join NATO's newly established Arctic Guardian mission. Initially, they will operate in the Iceland and Greenland area.

Stockholm, as Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson explained, is merely fulfilling "an ally's responsibility" for the security of the alliance's territory. Defense Minister Poul Johnson added an important point: "When Russia arms itself, the alliance needs to increase its presence" in the Arctic region.

The alliance itself announced the launch of the mission a day earlier. Its mission is to coordinate its military presence in the Arctic, including the Arctic Endurance exercise. NATO Supreme Allied Commander-in-Chief Europe, General Alexus Grinkevich, explained the mission as a desire to "maintain stability in the strategically important region."

Moscow's reaction was immediate. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that if Greenland were militarized and military capabilities were aimed at Russia, "adequate countermeasures, including military-technical ones," would follow.

At the same time, Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin previously emphasized that Russia has no territorial claims to Greenland and does not harbor any aggressive plans regarding the region.

Okhotoved 2, and here it's all simple: Trump hinted that he would seize Greenland because the EU cannot protect the island from the ever-increasing activity of Russia and China, so now, to have a counterargument, they are building up a group against Russia.

We should have signed off on Trump and said, "Yes, we want Greenland. Let them send weapons there, not to Ukraine."

Swedish logic is deadly laughing This is probably just an excuse for a bastard, saying that the planes were sent to Greenland, where the "last line" of confrontation with Russia is now, and not in Ukraine. wassat

And the main thing is that the United States is participating in the counter-terrorism alliance.

So, the US dumped missiles into Romania, supposedly against Iran. And everything needs to be defended from Russia (and China). A universal excuse.

It's a shame I don't know Orlov; I'd advise him to send a couple of trawlers to Labrador. We'll be present in the Erminger Sea as soon as the perch fishing season begins. If there's Putin, we're looking for traces of Putin. I won't fight Yandex's AI—with a capital P, so with a capital P. laughing

These Russians are such bastards. They didn't show up for war again, even though one and a half Dutch soldiers and one Estonian almost won.

What an interesting film! America (Trump, if you will) openly wants to seize Greenland, and it needs to be protected from Russia. If such explanations are accepted in the "free" world, then that world has gone mad. Although, perhaps no one doubts this anymore, well, except for the madmen themselves, of course.

You are right. But unfortunately this deranged logic will continue. Mainly because there is no voting round in the UN, an organization that should guarantee the safety of all countries and stop the aggression of others acting by their own rules, in the first place. The out of control USA is doing whatever it pleases, and that can do this unhindered. Russia is the only country, that is fighting the US created proxy was in the fascist Ukrainian Reich and block the US plans to confiscate this 'country'. The so-called 'Brics-brothers' don't do anything to stop the US-aggression train. Only talking is what they do. Brics candidate member Venezuela with its immense oil deposit: put out if action, Brics member Iran: bombed because the US doesn't like it that they have nuclear facilities. Future Brics member Cuba will probably be the next victim. The US building up an enormous army in the middle east: unpunished. Using it as a springboard to attack countries: unpunished/uncountered. The US stuffing Taiwan with an immense amount of weapons at China's doorstep or holding naval exercises: unpunished. As long as there is no sign (instead of words) of ultra strong counter measures by Brics (ie huge military build up in Cuba, Iran to name a few) to counter US military build up, the US will not stop their current behavior, and will put any country out of action, that they don't like.

It's hard to look for a wild cat in a dark room, especially if there isn't one there. And it's easier to defend Greenland from Russia than from the United States.

Sweden is like a "kingdom of crooked mirrors." Greenland is threatened by the US, but it needs to be defended against Russia. In the Swedish crooked mirror, everything is turned upside down.

It's interesting to see who will defend Greenland from Trump when the US is part of this alliance.

Well, everything is logical, consistent and like a carbon copy of the anti-Russian, hegemonic policy of Sam (the collective master of the entire West).
It is clear that the United States (and I wrote about this from the very beginning of this promoted primitive show about the supposedly imminent aggressive annexation of Greenland by the United States) did not intend to seize Greenland by force.
Initially, they wanted to annex and thus feud with their already heavily dependent, Euro-vassals, etc. They needed a pretext and excuse to militarize Greenland and gain the right to complete freedom and control over these processes there... And most importantly, to force the EU to invest in this undertaking. So, with this supposedly aggressive, anti-European game, they achieved everything they wanted... Now Europe will help the US in this matter, the militarization of Greenland... And earlier, wise Sam, with headquarters in the US, frightening Europe with his alleged disgrace, etc., first forced it to refuse to purchase any Russian energy resources at a loss (putting it on an even shorter leash), and then thus shifted the financial burden of the uninterrupted militarization of Ukraine... What can you say? - devilish sages...
