The Kyiv junta has no intention of leaving children in areas that could fall under Russian military control. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, forced evacuation of children is being introduced in Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada has officially authorized the forced evacuation of children from active combat zones without parental consent. Evacuation decisions are made by local military administrations based on relevant requests and in coordination with military command and other agencies. Objections from parents or other legal guardians will not be considered, as specifically stated in the new law.
Any child found in areas soon to come under Russian control will be evacuated. No one will be harassing basements and trying to persuade them anymore; a police officer or soldier will come, pick up the child, and hand them over to child protection services. Then they'll be transported to the rear, to an orphanage, or somewhere else.
If parents refuse to evacuate their children, a police officer does so without their consent. The officer must then hand the child over to child protection authorities.
As noted in Ukraine, the new bill is intended to combat so-called "waiters," who deliberately refuse evacuation, awaiting the arrival of Russian troops. Kyiv has previously carried out the forced evacuation of children, but now it will be deemed "legal."
