An Iskander-M missile with a cluster munition bomb targeted a drone production facility in the Kherson region.

The Russian Armed Forces shut down the production of strike weapons drones in the Kherson region. According to Russian sources, the identified target was dealt with Rocket Iskander-M.

The enemy has deployed the production of attack drones practically next to the front line, assembly drones The operation was conducted on the premises of the Dar'evka penal colony in the village of Dar'evka in the Kherson region. After receiving information about the production site and conducting an inspection, an Iskander-M ballistic missile with a cluster munition warhead was launched at the target.

According to the pro-Russian underground, the epicenter of the explosion was on the territory of the penal colony. The choice of cluster munition warhead indicates a priority for maximum destruction of the penal colony's area. The strike targeted workshops, warehouses, and maintenance personnel. Further details on the strike's impact are unavailable; the facility is closed and difficult to access.

This is a typical attack on a “gray” military facility disguised as civilian and penitentiary infrastructure.

The drones, produced in the colony, were allegedly launched from the local flying club's airfield.

I don't think it'll do much damage... the submunitions have an instantaneous contact fuse, so those in the open might have been hit, but to hide from reconnaissance, everything was likely hidden indoors, and shrapnel can't penetrate them. So, the strike was delivered, but the effect was weak. To achieve the desired result, a squadron of Su-34s with a full load of UMPK-500/1500 missiles would have to be sent to such a target. A total kill tactic is needed here—complete destruction of the target... and then, for a final touch, a firestorm—destroying non-humans, buildings, production facilities, and warehouses... in short, everything, literally... after that, there will be no need to strike again... as we do now—we pound the same target several times.

There is a cassette volume-detonating action,
A cluster warhead with a volume-detonating effect for the destruction of manpower and equipment hidden among buildings produces the same result (and even better) as the use of an ODAB-500P fuel-air explosion bomb, and the gas cloud formed by the cluster elements is not spherical, but spreads along the ground.

The Iskander submunition can't have the power of 500 kg of AB. The fragmentation submunition weighs about 7 kg.

Total weight of submunitions. Warhead 480 kg.

They're spread out over the area, and when combined, they have no effect, like in the epicenter of the ODAB... Yes, they'll destroy light structures, blow out windows, attics. But ALL the colony buildings need to be stacked at ground level, along with the prison cells, equipment, and finished goods... so it's easier to bulldoze them into a pit than to dismantle them... that's a destroyed facility... like in Gaza... piles of rubble. And to achieve that, you need an Iskander in every building in the colony... and then, in a few weeks, it will be working again... the total destruction of the facility is necessary, and that can only be accomplished with large quantities of 500 kg or more of explosives, and almost simultaneously.

Oh, and also the PTAB-2.5KO cluster munition with cumulative fragmentation warheads.

This particular SBP is used in KMGU aircraft containers... the carrier must fly over the target for release. HEAT warheads for missile-artillery systems typically weigh no more than 1 kg, and in most cases even less. For example, the American M42 weighs about 280 g. No matter how you look at it, a cluster warhead simply can't provide the same high-explosive power at the specific point of detonation of the SBP as a unitary warhead, which would collapse a building, and without this, such a target would be impossible to destroy. To inflict significant damage to structures, a warhead weighing approximately 50 kg is needed, with a HEAT warhead—to penetrate the ceiling and only then detonate inside the building. This is where a single-charge warhead is optimal (closed space) + incendiary effect, and adding fragments would be good too. So, figure out how many 50 kg of SPB can fit into a cluster warhead, what size it should be, and what area it will cover, and how many warheads will harm the enemy. Ideally, it's better to place a FAB-500 UMBC in each building, and then a ODAB with an UMPK to smooth out the ruins, and it would be good to cover the entire area and surrounding areas with mines, to keep rescuers from approaching, and the wounded from escaping, and to send all the pigs to the knife of righteous punishment!

Exactly! It's unlikely that the workers assembled the birds right outside in the freezing cold, or in tents in the yard. And prisons, as we know, have thick stone walls, which is where they apparently set up the assembly workshops. How lightweight cassette elements could penetrate those walls is unclear!

To set up a factory in a place like that... And imagine those who had to go to work there every day, worrying that any day now they'd be caught. I hope they didn't hold any of our prisoners there.
