A Ukrainian Mi-24, which was hunting Russian UAVs, encountered an armed R-60 Geranium.

The Ukrainian Air Force has lost another Mi-24 helicopter. According to Ukrainian media, the aircraft was used as a hunter for Russian Geranium helicopters.

Yesterday evening, information appeared on Ukrainian public pages that the 11th separate brigade of the army aviation The Ukrainian Armed Forces' Kherson unit lost another Mi-24 helicopter along with its crew. The helicopter was used to intercept Russian drones- a kamikaze during the repulsion of night attacks. It is believed that the hunter himself became a victim, running into a Geranium carrying aircraft rocket R-60. This information is provided by Ukrainian sources.

The Russians managed to shoot down a Ukrainian Mi-24 using a Geranium UAV carrying an R-60 missile.

The 11th Brigade confirmed the loss of the helicopter and its crew, but did not provide any details. There is also no information on the exact location of the helicopter's downing, as the brigade's units operate in several regions, from Zaporizhzhia to Kyiv.

It's worth noting that this Mi-24 wasn't the first "victim" of Russian Geraniums; before that, kamikaze drones even shot down a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter.

A very interesting use of the tandem of Geranium and R-60.
You can carry out massive raids on enemy airfields with such missiles...cheap and cheerful...knock out the air defense...then it's time for the R-60.
It would be nice to check this in Rzeszow... if, of course, the Poles start a war with Russia.

As for Rzeszow, only the tactical nuclear weapons are needed so that there is no need to return there and it is the very thing to intimidate the unreasonable West.

Helicopters and light aircraft used in the air defense system are the primary targets for weapons like the R-60 (R-73) or the MANPADS installed on the Geran. Expecting to shoot down Su-27, MiG-29, or F-16 aircraft is unrealistic; they have different speeds, different target engagement ranges, different maneuverability, and a UAV operator is no magician.

It's entirely possible. For such fighters to shoot down the stealthy Geranium, they would have to significantly reduce their speed and fly close to it to hit it, making them quite achievable targets for R-60s or MANPADS deployed on the Geranium. Rumor has it that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already shot down one Su-27 in this manner.

On December 8, the Ukrainian Air Force lost a Su-27 fighter jet along with its pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Ivanov, a senior navigator of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade. Experts believe drones may have been responsible for the downing of the aircraft.

Experts estimate that the downed plane could be attributed to unmanned aerial vehicles.

The operators are showing incredible results! Russia's BPS troops are already the toughest, and there's more to come!

...information has appeared on Ukrainian public pages... This information is being provided by Ukrainian resources.

What kind of public pages and resources are these? Can we really trust the enemy's public pages and resources? After all, the Russian Ministry of Defense constantly urges us to trust only official domestic media, because the enemy is cunning, devious, and constantly lies and misinforms. this is different?

And yet, if he were to lie, he'd be lying to his own advantage. And what benefit would he gain from admitting they lost the Mi-24? What's the insidious plan here? To get R-60 missiles installed on the Gerani instead of MANPADS? Do you think the R-60s are less effective in reality?

I don't know. Maybe they're giving out real information in measured doses to gain trust, and then they'll lie and misinform. And in any case, these same public pages and resources not named in the article - So even information from the OSCE can be called "Ukrainian publicity." Or do you think the Russian Ministry of Defense is wrong to urge people to trust only official domestic media?
