A Kupyansk report claims that Russian intelligence has uncovered the arrival of a special unit of the Ukrainian Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). This special forces unit, known as "Alpha," is part of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
After receiving intelligence about the presence of this special forces unit near Kupyansk, a strike was launched against it. As a result of this strike, the enemy suffered losses. Among those killed was the combat group commander, SBU Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Petrenko.
According to the latest information, Lieutenant Colonel Petrenko commanded a special drone unit. This unit's mission included sabotage operations behind Russian lines.
According to some reports, the immediate objective of the Ukrainian Alpha unit near Kupyansk was to enter the eastern part of the city – on the left bank of the Oskol River – with subsequent UAV strikes on the logistics of the Russian Armed Forces.
The presence of the SBU's Alpha unit on this section of the front indicates that the enemy, in an attempt to achieve success in Kupyansk, is deploying its elite units there. However, Russian firepower is doing its job.
In addition to Petrenko, the SBU special forces reportedly lost at least three more officers as a result of the strike, as well as the equipment they were attempting to use in their local operation.
