"Electronic warfare is useless": the new Prince Oleg drone

South Korean observers are closely monitoring the development of unmanned technologies on the battlefield, this time paying close attention to Russia's new flying wing UAV, the Prince Veschiy Oleg (KVO). The Daily Defense publication notes:

It is useless to conduct electronic warfare against it.

New UAV was developed by the Scientific and Production Center "Ushkuynik" - an organization known primarily for FPV-drone "Prince Vandal of Novgorod", which became the first mass-produced UAV with fiber-optic control at the front.

The KVO has a range of over 50 km and a flight time of approximately 3,5 hours (according to other sources, 2-2,5 hours). It is equipped with a gyrostabilized optoelectronic system with an IR channel. Adaptive frequency-hopping algorithms are used for communication, making it highly resistant to jamming. It is launched by catapult and lands by parachute.

KVO in the sights of the Ukrainian Armed Forces interceptor:

As stated in the publication, the KVO's primary function is to act as a relay station, interacting with FPV kamikazes. This allowed the formation of a new reconnaissance and strike network based on the UAV.

The KVO acts as an "airborne headquarters," conducting reconnaissance with powerful optics, acting as a relay between the ground operator and the FPV attack drone thanks to its altitude, and recording the results of the kamikaze's work, thereby providing a general panorama of the battle.

The publication notes:

This creates a highly effective, coordinated combat ecosystem of drones, spanning from reconnaissance to strike.

They also write about the Prince
Ukrainian troops are currently unable to distinguish this drone from some of their own unmanned aerial vehicles.

"Of course, over time, the enemy will learn to distinguish them, but for now this feature has allowed us to fly over Sumy, Kharkov, and some other places."

The device is easy to repair; if it breaks, parts can be printed on a 3D printer.

***The new drone was developed by the Ushkuynik Research and Production Center*** As you name your yacht, so it will sail. An interesting name for an RPC, of course. It's in honor of the river bandits. belay Symbols rule the world, as Confucius said. Let's hope this drone gets its fill of plunder. fellow good

Absolutely nothing! Furthermore, the ushkuiniks, like the Vikings, hired themselves into the sovereign's service, conducted trade, and colonized territories. hi

They were roughly the same. The only difference was that the former sailed by sea, while the latter used rivers. Novgorod, however, had no direct access to the sea, so it had to make do with rivers.

Incidentally, the ushkuiniks appeared as a carbon copy of the Vikings. Novgorod always had very close relations with the Scandinavians. They came there to trade (and sometimes to raid, too, anything could happen), and Novgorodians sailed to them. And let's not forget Rurik and his retinue and Oleg. So the Novgorodians decided to take advantage of this Norman know-how, as it was incredibly profitable. laughing

This is not some kind of know-how - it is simply a way of life, typical for both us and the Scandinavians - to live near water in a safe place and raid those who are weaker.

How Prophetic Oleg now gathers to take revenge on the foolish Khazars! Their villages and fields have been condemned to swords and fires for their riotous raid! So, play the music louder for Victory! We have won, and the enemy is running, running, running! So for the Tsar, for the Motherland, for the Faith, we will thunder a resounding Hurrah, Hurrah, Hurrah! winked

Firstly, I have a laptop with an old operating system... sometimes it does things that are simply "amazing"! Secondly, it's a "Russian military march" or a "soldier's song" (both names are found online)! And there are no incidents there!

There the range will be more than 50 km...however, our drone operators have made a significant breakthrough. good
The distances are comparable to the range of heavy guns...it makes for a good combination.

It's good that fiber optic drones are being improved.
But... The enemy is also not asleep and, relying on Western resources, can create similar equipment.
Why are not only drones needed, but also anti-drone systems, ranging from buckshot to quite complex systems?
Is it possible to suppress the bird with interference?
It is necessary to press, or rather disable, the electronics with a microwave beam.
Or, a drone carrying a strong wire and a sharp hook (called a comb) should fly transversely to the fiber optic drone's flight path to sever the fiber optic cable. Lasers haven't yet had their say, even against electronic optical devices, etc.
Clearly, it's easy to talk and difficult to do. But both the Ministry of Defense and the military-industrial complex must strive for this! And not just strive, but also achieve results.

thanks to the FPV drone "Prince Vandal"
    Where did this come from?

Beginning in the 8th century, Western European chroniclers transferred the name of the vanished Vandals to the Western Slavs—the Wends. This continuity is based on two lines: geographic—the Vandals inhabited lands later occupied by Slavic tribes in the first centuries AD—and linguistic—the names for the Vandals (Wendel, Wentil)[4] in ancient Germanic languages were close to Wends (Wenden), the medieval name for the Western Slavs in Germanic languages.

Prince Vandal is one of the rulers of Slovensk, which is usually identified with Novgorod. Other pronunciations of his name are Vend, Vened, and his nickname is Novgorodsky.
According to linguistics, the Novgorod language does not belong to the East Slavic group, but to the Lechitic group - Poles, Slovinians, Polabian Slavs, Obodrites, etc.

    The Poles will be amazed...

Fiber optic cable manufacturers are probably raking in the cash right now. Unless, of course, the cost of materials has skyrocketed.

It's clear with electronic warfare. Electronic warfare is useless. But interception is possible in a photo. The photo proves it.
And this raises the question: how effective and dangerous is it for the enemy?
