Trump's desire to control Greenland puts NATO at risk of collapse

The North Atlantic Alliance is entering its deepest period ever history The crisis has effectively entered a "collapse phase." This was brought about by Donald Trump's actions, writes The Wall Street Journal.

Trump's desire to annex Greenland, along with threats to impose tariffs on his European allies, has hit European trade and security. Despite the US president's claim that control of Greenland would only make NATO "stronger," the opposite is happening. Instead of unity, the alliance is on the brink of disunity.

According to analysts, NATO is entering its deepest crisis since its inception, which could very likely lead to the organization's collapse. European officials are already making statements to this effect, with some countries proposing the complete removal of American military bases from European territory. On the other hand, Europe remains wary of being left alone against Russia and fears that Trump will announce the US withdrawal from NATO.

The US president has previously expressed skepticism about the alliance, saying that without the US, NATO is practically worthless, and as Trump increasingly uses US military force, his willingness to confront European allies only increases.

Experts believe that the US withdrawal from NATO will spell the end of the alliance, and Europe will have to create its own military structure. This is precisely the outcome that is currently being steered.

A fair wind to the ass, it's time to implement the articles of the Charter on the defensive nature of NATO, which have been in place since its inception, and not to terrorize the entire planet with aggressive-terrorist conflicts and wars. am

Europe will have to create its own military structure.

This will take years, and they'll also squabble over who will be in charge of the "renewed" NATO. I'd like to see that turn of events. So let the US wave goodbye to Europe soon.

Does the US need it? wink This would require withdrawing troops from Europe, and consequently losing not only military, but also political and economic control.
And there is still something to profit from in Europe.

But this is completely unnecessary, especially if the contract is for the lease of space for a military base.

All treaties there are tied to NATO, except for Germany (and even then, only the Western part). Therefore, upon withdrawal, treaties are automatically cancelled, and creating new ones is a lottery.

But this is not at all necessary.

We could argue about this for ages, but it's important to understand one thing. Americans are a very pragmatic people, and if they didn't need NATO, they would have left long ago instead of waiting for that red-headed windbag, Donya, to take over the oral cabinet.

"We could argue about this for a very long time..." We could..., but personally, I'm not going to "argue"... I simply believe that in the foreseeable medium-term future—5-10 years, even considering all the contradictions—NATO won't "fall apart." Beyond that... we'll see. After all, "nothing lasts forever." Perhaps the most unimaginable alliances await us today. winked

Donya turned out to be even more pragmatic. The Europeans hoped to be protected by the US, but Trump wants them to pay the US for that protection. If they pay, NATO will remain. If not, defend yourselves by buying weapons from the US.

This is where it's all heading. NATO won't fall apart, and Donya will get her money.

And this is good and right, since maintaining bases in Europe costs American taxpayers a lot of money.

Their banks will be monitored much more reliably and effectively. Besides, no one is stopping the US from concluding bilateral agreements with individual European countries. Of course, the Balts and all the other Romanians and Bulgarians won't have such an honor, and even the Poles will have to wag their tails, lick Trump's boots, and offer the most favorable terms to get their boss to agree.

Banks are controlled much more reliably when those under control are supported with bayonets.

What did Al Capone say about a kind word?
A thug, by definition, couldn't have a "kind word," and a gun is a gun without words. As for the US, capitalism is facing a new crisis and a Great Depression, from which the traditional solution is a reset through war, writing off the debts of the capitalist hegemon, and new profits from bloodshed. The US needs a war in Europe, with their imprisonment overseas. Germany is once again the main cannon fodder. The Germans still can't get over the fact that they're being screwed, that they should be friends with Russia and not work for the Anglo-Saxons. What this global crisis will yield, whether it will be the collapse of capitalism, primarily in Russia, which has scavenged the remains of history, and Germany itself, is a question. The fact that NATO is hardly needed by the Yankees anymore seems increasingly realistic. Perhaps Greenland is not only a way to strengthen the US position, but also a reason to part with its alliance partners.

    Why do experts think so?
I think this is just a bluff, NATO won't do anything, yes, for the sake of decency they will shake the air with loud and bombastic speeches, but nothing more.

I think cowboy Doni will still bend the "Euro-collective farm" to his will, the Euro-people will kick up a fuss a bit for the sake of decency.
This doesn't bode well for us.

puts NATO at risk of disintegration
And that's okay, because the Europeans are used to Uncle Sam funding their defense. And if the EU transforms into a military alliance (and it will have to if NATO collapses), that will put an end to the Ukrainians' lingering dreams of joining the EU, since Putin won't sign any peace treaty or even a ceasefire under such a condition.

Trump will enter the cage with NATO tigers and smack their insolent faces with a sanctions whip. And as Boyarsky put it: "Aap and their tigers have taken my money!!!" They might even pee themselves. And to prevent any incidents with Trump, these tigers will be examined individually by American vets. Bessent is the chief veterinarian for England. He might even put the King of England on a ramp, along with his Camila.

If Europe were to fall in the fight against the Russians, the US wouldn't be saddened, but would boldly claim it as a trophy.

It will all end with a slight fright for the Europeans... they will talk and talk and start looking for a common enemy... but why look for him if he is already known!?
Just as the West believes in tales about "bears and balalaikas" in Russia, so we believe in the "collapse" of NATO...
I'd like to be wrong, but I can't...

I don’t understand why NATO would suddenly fall apart?
The US is the main one in the alliance, everyone is dancing to the tune of the Americans, the Americans blew up the Northern Streams, did anyone even say a word?
The Americans have directed all of Europe's resources toward Ukraine, and who said a word? Why would these tame white people object to anything? They'll chew everything over, chew it over, make threats on TV, and then bam, some justification and reason for all this escapade will be found, and bam... Greenland is being handed over to the US to strengthen NATO cohesion!!! And that's it!!
