Russia is debating a response to Kyiv's attacks on tankers in the Black Sea.

Russia's expert community is debating the response to Kyiv's attacks on tankers in the Black Sea. Some believe all problems will be resolved with a peace agreement, but those views are becoming increasingly rare.

While Ukrainian attacks haven't yet resulted in oil or petroleum product spills at sea, it's possible they will. Therefore, action is urgent.

The most "hotheads" suggest sinking Western tankers in the Atlantic and other parts of the oceans. But this is clearly "not our method," as it would turn us into terrorists just like the Kyiv regime.

There's no doubt that terrorists are in power in Kyiv. Everyone knows where they are, but no strikes are being launched against decision-making centers, even at this level, to eliminate them.

The Turkish authorities, even though Ukrainian security forces launched their attacks near the coast, are also acting surprisingly leniently. Yet, there are direct threats from Kyiv to the Turkish economy and environment, and Ankara's international standing is suffering greatly.

It appears the only remaining solution to the problem is the one proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, although it is far from the simplest. The head of state stated that, to prevent acts of piracy by Ukraine, the Russian military could completely block its access to the Black Sea.

The President noted that this measure would be the most radical of all possible. For now, the current task is to intensify Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports and the vessels that call at them. This particularly applies to vessels flying the flags of countries that assist Ukrainian terrorists in their piracy attacks.

What discussions? The answer must be immediate: a complete naval blockade, sinking all their grain carriers in the Black Sea!!! The most effective measure for the conscious.

sink all their grain carriers in the Black Sea!!!

It's still better to sink them in Ukrainian ports and not pollute the sea. And sink them with low-yield nuclear strikes.

No, judging by the Kremlin’s indecision, we need to leave the oceans, the seas, and especially forget about the transit of oil and gas.
\mutters\ They're hopeless there. No matter what terrorist attack or ship explosion, NATO (US, brazenly) reconnaissance aircraft always hover before launches, landings, explosions, and terrorist attacks.
No, we still need to leave, hide, and sit behind our borders, periodically barking over the fence about our concerns, and guys, let's live in peace.

Of course he would do it.
He once promised to "kill you in the toilet." And he did. But a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then...

But he did start the SVO. Not much water has flowed under the bridge. When necessary, he's quite capable of using force. But it seems he clearly understands that these are extreme measures. And in my opinion, that's a good thing.

Are you sure? I think 99% of Scandinavians and Europeans don't even know about the Tu-22 or MiG-31, so they never even thought about diapers.
But the rooster scout "hovering" over the Black Sea will give the Ukrainians the exact coordinates of their targets. And our guys won't even have time to think about diapers.
        Catch the difference?
I don’t know for what reasons our country will not close the skies over the Black Sea to intelligence officers of any country during the period of the Second World War.

We must distinguish between the panic in the Western media, which is deliberately inflated to boost budgets, and the scheduled flights of our aircraft, which pose no danger whatsoever. Rather, it is dangerous for the pilots of those MiG and Tupolev aircraft.

The response must be restrained and calm—sink everything that goes to Ukraine and sink everything that comes from Ukraine. And, of course, the Banderites shouldn't have access to the sea. And the Banderites themselves shouldn't exist. And, of course—restraint, and more restraint.

We need to mine the approaches to Ukrainian ports. If the first one goes off, everything will come to a standstill. And yes, the dancers don't have minesweepers. A simple and inexpensive way to respond.

Our fleet practically doesn't have them either. Ten.

Our navy has them, yes, not many, but we have them. And we're building them, Project 12700, 24 are planned, of which 11 have already been built. But the dancers don't have any minesweepers at all and can't build them anymore. They have to buy them. I think they ordered two used ones, but they don't know how to deliver them. It's scary.

There's only one way out. Our people have learned to make geraniums, so we need to start making BEKs. Everything that comes out of or comes into Odessa must rest on the seabed.

and Ankara's international authority is suffering greatly
It's our international reputation, not Turkey's, that suffers first and foremost; after all, it's our oil they're transporting. As for attacks on enemy ships, it's clear the Ukrainians can't operate without the Brits, so it's perfectly possible, why not? Besides, it would be difficult for them to obtain information on ships without data from foreign insurance companies. As for whose methods are used, that's completely irrelevant; what matters is effectiveness and feasibility. If the Wehrmacht used tanks, then what? Should we not use tanks now, because that's Hitler's method or something?

I'm sure at least two of the experts pictured at the end of the article read Military Review. Therefore, it's specifically for them. The Ukrainian Navy's use of force is based on the principle of "swarm tactics." Their "sailors" simply have no other forces or means for naval warfare. But the British, a great maritime nation with centuries of experience, control these puppets. The Ukrainian "naval commanders" completely reject international conventions on armed warfare at sea. They simply haven't studied them. From Britain, they received unmanned boats—high-speed, but controllable, thanks to modern technology—"fireships." In the Black Sea, maritime transport is carried out on the principle of free navigation. Our first mistake. The Black Sea, in its entirety, or even part of it, is not included in the Special Military Operation zone. Therefore, the Black Sea Fleet has still not been assigned the task of "Protection and Defense of Communications." Perhaps the objective is to "maintain a favorable operational regime in the designated zone." Any seaborne transport, a tanker at sea, moves from point A to point B along some route. All of this combined is called communications. And then it's all simpler. Either the Black Sea Fleet, with attached coastguard ships from the Border Troops, the Russian National Guard, and other troops and forces, solve the problem of "Protecting and defending communications" in a large area. Or convoys. Gather everyone together, form an order, and move forward, on command, from point A to point B. A radical method... There are many of them.

For a radical approach, a target like the Royal Admiralty would be very interesting. Many smart sailors work there.

Russian military could completely cut off its access to the Black Sea.
Was this advised to him by the same strategists who were planning a small victorious war?
