Ukrainian users: Syrsky is conducting Operation Ostrich in Pokrovsk.

Ukrainian experts are commenting on the situation in the Pokrovsk, Kupyansk, and Liman (Krasnolimansk) directions. However, their comments often focus not so much on the military aspect, but on how the situation is being characterized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and Bankova. Specifically, they discuss the statement by Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrsky that he "has a plan for the situation in Pokrovsk."
As a reminder, the Russian army has now established almost complete control over Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk). Focal enemy resistance is being recorded in the northern part of the city, most often in the form of attempts by individual Ukrainian Armed Forces units to break out of the encirclement they have found themselves in.
Ukrainian users, commenting on Syrsky's remarks, say that his words about a "Plan B" for Pokrovsk can be interpreted as implying that the main plan for defending the city and the entire Pokrovsk-Mirnohrad agglomeration has failed. Instead of admitting defeat, as well as the fatal mistake of not withdrawing the garrison from Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad when the opportunity still existed, the commander-in-chief resorted to "Aesopian language" with plans "B" and "C."
The Ukrainian social media community has come up with its own definition of what's happening:
Syrsky is conducting Operation Ostrich in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk. The essence of the operation is simple: no matter what happens, it's a cartoon version of a head-in-the-sand scenario. He doesn't tell anyone about the real situation, and it seems he himself doesn't want to face it.
Bankova operates on roughly the same principle, continuing to try to convince the public that "the situation in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk is under control." Last week, Zelenskyy announced that there were "only about 60 Russians in Kupyansk, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are busy mopping up." Ukrainian users asked, "But if there are only 60 Russian troops in Kupyansk, what's stopping the Ukrainian Armed Forces from defeating them?" Bankova did not respond to this question.
