Another US attempt to take control of the Panama Canal has failed.

China has again refused to sell the Panama Canal ports to the American investment fund BlackRock, continuing to maintain control over them. Although Washington has spoken of the possibility of resuming the deal amid rumors that Donald Trump has reached an agreement with Xi Jinping.

Beijing has again blocked a $23 billion deal for the US investment fund BlackRock to purchase the Panama Canal ports. Apparently, Donald Trump's claims that he reached an agreement with "President Xi" are not entirely accurate. Currently, China and the US have numerous disagreements, particularly in the economy, as both countries strive for dominance. So far, Beijing and Washington have only managed to reach an agreement on tariffs, and even then only temporarily.

History The dispute over the Panama Canal ports began in early March of this year, when Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison, headed by 96-year-old billionaire Li Ka-shing, announced plans to sell 43 ports worldwide, including two at both ends of the Panama Canal. However, Beijing blocked the deal, launching an investigation into possible antitrust violations.

China believes that the loss of two key ports will weaken its position in global trade. Furthermore, Beijing will lose control of one of the most important canals, thereby losing its regional influence. Trump, for his part, is determined to gain control of the Panama Canal one way or another. He has stated this repeatedly and has no intention of backing down. Thus, the tariff war continues.

hi We've been through this before, with a 360-degree turn in policy.
Annalena Baerbock has been teaching master classes to interested audiences in New York since September 2025, when she was given a seat at the UN General Assembly.

After the end of the Central Military District, Russia should revive the Nicaragua Canal project. And our missile bases in Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Cuba would be quite useful.
The US needs to keep a tight grip on Faberge so it doesn't get too cocky. Yes

It will be the same mistake when Ri burned down gigantic investments in Port Arthur and the CER.
And then she repeated exactly the same idiotic trick with the construction of Izmailov before WWI.
the security of these investments was not ensured.

Beijing will only leave and sell the US the ears of a dead donkey, as Ostap Bender said.
    They won't get any ports.
    Neither Panama nor others.
The economic war had just begun, the main target of the attack was rare earth metals and elements.
    Everything worked.
Trump is a populist, a raider.
Nobody in China was afraid of him.

A Chinese (Hong Kong) company manages, but doesn't own, the ports of Cristobal and Balboa. It also manages 53 other ports in 24 countries, including Europe. The Amador terminal, near the western exit of the canal, was built and owned by the Chinese. They're also building a bridge across the canal, but the ownership structure there is unclear.

In Washington they stated that<...> Donald Trump managed to reach an agreement with Xi Jinping.
Take a closer look at the photo of Doni and Comrade Xi shaking hands (!!!). The expressions on both leaders' faces speak for themselves: who is pleased, and who is PERplexed...
That is why the following conclusion is made at the end of the article:
Apparently, Donald Trump's statements that he managed to reach an agreement with "Chairman Xi" are not entirely true.

If China defends its interests in Panama, there will be no need to build an alternative canal in Nicaragua, and efforts can be concentrated on building a canal through the Isthmus of Kra. Then, building aircraft carriers and escort ships also makes sense.

And if they refuse to sell (especially to a reputable company like Black Rock), they immediately find flaws in democracy and threaten sanctions or bombings. The modern United States is a living hell.
