Russia is introducing a year-round military conscription system.

President Vladimir Putin signed a law that changes the very logic of conscription in Russia. Formally, everything remains as before: recruits will be sent to their units twice a year, in the spring and fall. But the entire preparatory process—medical examinations, psychological assessments, committee meetings, paperwork—will now run nonstop. Every day, all year round.

So, there's no longer any "off-season." A summons could arrive at any moment.

The law on military conscription applies to men between the ages of 18 and 30.

On paper, the rule remains the same: conscripts cannot be sent to a combat zone without their consent and a signed contract.

The context is clear: the special operation is ongoing, the army needs personnel, and the state is proactively adjusting the system for a steady supply of troops. No sudden mobilizations—instead, a smooth but steady process.

Officially, the new conscription system will make life easier for military registration and enlistment offices and improve the quality of recruit selection.

Is this news?! They've been gloating about it on TikTok for a while now, at least since yesterday...

Well, let them gloat and vomit. So, they signed off on the reservists. In terms of deploying them to guard facilities. When will that actually start working...

As with the reservists...there will be every other place.
You either officially declare war or cease military operations.
This is a propaganda site, filled mostly with turbo-patriots, and they don't even notice that the goal of the war has changed several times already. Sometimes it was protecting the population of Donbass, which wasn't even mentioned at the Istanbul talks, sometimes it was raising the status of the Russian language and reducing the size of the Ukrainian army...
Otherwise, it's all denification, demilitarization, ugh, damn.

What's wrong with the reservists? How do you know what's going on with us?
You either officially declare war or cease military operations.

Oh yeah, we forgot to ask you. Teach Russia how to fight. Deal with your Basmachi first.
This is a propaganda site and mostly turbo patriots have gathered here.

This is a Russian website, not some Kazakh one. What's wrong with you? It's like you were dragged here by the ears.

Why are you so quick to attack him? He was stating a fact about the powers that be vacillating over the operation's goals and objectives. As for teaching Russia to fight, if you're not on your own, you have no moral right to even mention it. And as soon as something goes wrong, you're instantly a liberal, etc. You're completely stupid, aren't you?

                  Oh really?!
So, this character from Kazakhstan can do that? And how, in your eyes, has the Kazakh "military" earned the right to discuss who should fight and how?
And yes, as soon as something happens, you immediately become a liberal, etc., you are completely stupid, aren't you?

Everything is wrong with the reservists.

So, I'm curious about what exactly? You in Kazakhstan know better how you present things here.
Where did your Basmachi go? Maybe our guys calmed them down? It seems you yourselves haven't had the time. Just laziness, I suppose.
Well, I just don't get it, you're such masters of the language here. And you manage to advise us on how to fight and what's wrong with us, and so on. And yet, when there's something completely incomprehensible right under your noses, you call it Russia. Why is that? You're the experts, God forbid.))
There's another interesting point. Those hohol-like drones on your part. Oh, I wish you hadn't gotten on our nerves...

Your reservists are still with us on a part-time basis, although many have moved on. Frankly, some have even returned home; everyone chooses their own path.
You don't know how to fight, after all, "meat assaults" weren't invented in Kazakhstan, and that's some kind of indicator. You had Prigozhin, but he was eliminated too, like they were playing around with a grenade on board.
They pour wild nonsense into your ears and people like you swallow it.
As for the 22nd year, any military man will explain to you what functions they performed. Not a single Russian soldier ever fired a shot; they weren't even allowed into the city. Those same Armenians, for example, moved freely around Almaty 😁

You're a bit confused about what reservists are. Those you have are mostly runaway, near-liberals who have nothing to do with reservists.
So you yourself have become a victim of "porn propaganda".
Not a single Russian soldier fired a shot; they weren't even allowed into the city.

                      Well, that was enough.
You don't know how to fight, because "meat assaults" weren't invented in Kazakhstan, and this is kind of an indicator.

How is that? Then who do you think knows how to fight? You?
So where did you and your "warriors" check in? Don't worry – nowhere.
The same Armenians, for example, moved freely around Almaty 😁

Yes, the Armenian army is certainly a formidable force! Just like you.

If you don't know what a reservist is and what they're supposed to do, you'd better keep quiet. A reservist doesn't belong to your incomprehensible, near-liberal category at all.
"Meat assault" is not my formulation, your war correspondents have been mentioning it all along!!!

If you don’t know what a reservist is and what he should do, then it would be better to keep quiet.

You'd better be sniffling. In Russia, these are citizens who previously served in the Armed Forces or other security agencies and are currently in the reserves, having previously signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense to remain in the reserves.

And regarding the Basmachi, why did you remain so modestly silent? Hasn't Adam Kadyrov received the Hero of Russia title yet?!

He hasn't received it and he won't. But don't be the one making fun of him. You have far more of these "awardees."

When we switched to a year-long service, the concepts of "grandfathers" and "scoops" disappeared from the soldier's vocabulary. A "spirit" would immediately become a "demobilized" after six months. Now, with year-round conscription, there's a whole new world of hazing, which, of course, doesn't exist officially.
It would also be good to pass a law prohibiting those who haven't served in the army from working in government agencies. Then the popularity of military service would skyrocket.

I don't understand what's new? In the USSR, medical examinations for future conscripts were held year-round, except in the summer. Groups of people from businesses and educational institutions usually attended the examinations. But during the draft, the medical examination was specifically for those destined for the army, even though they had already passed the examination at age 16 when they received their registration papers.

The law on military conscription applies to men between the ages of 18 and 30.

When there was a "discussion" of changes to the conscription system, deputies like Kartapolov said that conscription would be carried out from 21 to 30 years of age, so that men with life experience, not just high school students, would serve in the army.
As a result, they are conscripting people from 18 to 30 (and not until 27 as it was before).

Any change initially disrupts the usual workflow, and then, perhaps, something will improve. I expect the new regulations to dramatically increase conscription spending, but I'm not sure what improvements will result. Like, say, a three-day medical commission, or having doctors come in every day...
