Russian intelligence services helped prevent an armed coup in Georgia.

Russian intelligence services helped the Georgian authorities prevent a coup in the country, in particular, assistance was provided in the matter of cutting off the supply chain weapons for the opposition. However, Tbilisi will never admit this, stated Georgian journalist Gulbaat Rtskhiladze.

Georgia has informal channels of communication with Russia, including through its intelligence services, but they will never disclose them publicly. Officially, Tbilisi has no dealings with Moscow due to Russia's stance on Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Nevertheless, it was the Russians who tipped off the Georgians about the arms supply route from Ukraine, which the opposition planned to use for the coup.

The trail leads to Ukraine, that's well known. I don't have any specific details, although I strongly suspect and have some indirect information that this case was solved thanks to the help of Russian intelligence services. It won't be made public, of course, that Russia helped us with this, but that's the truth.

- said the journalist.

According to Rtskhiladze, Russia is generally satisfied with the Georgian Dream party's position of power in the country. For Moscow, which is currently engaged in a special operation in Ukraine, the most important thing is that there be no overt Russophobia. And in this respect, today's Georgia is radically different from the country under Saakashvili.

Georgia has refused to impose sanctions against Russia and conducts trade with it discreetly. There are some contacts at the leadership level, but again, there is no official communication.

Russia, of course, is pleased, because they're taking a superficial view of the situation in Georgia. The main thing is that there's no overt, rabid Russophobia on the part of the Georgian authorities, and it must be acknowledged that there isn't.

- the journalist added.

It's just that Boris (Ivanishvili) has very deep ties to the Russian elite and authorities. They don't bother him, he doesn't harm us; it's mutual benefit, business, old memories, and business.

Even without public evidence, it's clear that, if given the opportunity, Russian intelligence services will help the current Georgian government stay in power. The only thing missing from the current situation is a Georgian-style Maidan in our neighboring country.

And what doubts were there that, along with the English, there were also Ukrainians hanging around there?

Russian intelligence services helped the Georgian authorities prevent a coup in the country, specifically by cutting off the arms supply chain to the opposition.

In this vein, the Georgians themselves have repeatedly seen what can be expected from former allies and partners, mattress makers, small-time Britons, Banderites, who, in Caucasian hospitality, were greeted with music, dancing, and tables set with wine.

      Greetings, Andrew!hi
An interesting exchange of opinions in the information space between the OSCE Office for Human Rights and the Prime Minister of Georgia:
The OSCE/ODIHR described those detained for storming the Georgian presidential residence as "peaceful protesters."

"Peaceful protesters in Georgia continue to be detained, harassed, and fined for exercising their rights. We once again call on the Georgian authorities to ensure that civil society is not persecuted and that their voices are heard," said the organization's director, Maria Telaliani.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze called this statement absurd:

"On October 4, brutal violence occurred. Fifteen police officers were hospitalized, two of whom miraculously escaped death. The statements we hear from the European bureaucracy are shameful lies."

Alexander, how will the EU punish a small country like Georgia, which has Chinese investments, Russian intelligence services, and Russian vacationers behind it?

You have very little knowledge of Georgia. The port of Anaklia – it's quite funny how China got around the EU and the US. There was no sign of Turkey in the port.

One small detail suddenly caught my attention: when journalists conduct interviews on the street, supporters of "freedom" and "European integration" speak exclusively in English. Supporters of the current government, however, speak Georgian.

This small fact, but it raises serious questions about who the "peaceful protesters" are trying to support and whose money they're using. Their interviews are a kind of report on the money spent. And that money isn't exactly lari.
And supporters of the current government, at the very least, have realized that living in peace with Russia is far more profitable than barking for Western salaries. Worse, they could bark until they get into trouble. So they're thinking about how Georgia will fare in the future; they themselves expect to live in this country, and so they don't report their salaries to the West in English, but talk about their country in Georgian.

And indeed, they've been through all this before, both at home in Georgia and from all sides... That's why the only way to wage a Maidan in Tbilisi now, following Ukraine's path, is to get paid.

        And further...
I remembered April 1989, Gamsakhurdia... How much happiness has it brought them since then? A country of nonstop Maidan protests – and that's been going on for over 35 years. Maybe they really did look, think, and say, "To hell with your democracy!"

I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Kaja Kallas is our agent, an employee of Mother Russia's foreign intelligence service. So far, she's doing the right thing by discrediting the European Union and its top brass. Major Kaja Kallas...

P.S. By the way, I'll let you in on a terrible secret: Annalena Baerbock served in the Airborne Forces special forces. Only she trained not to jump out of planes with parachutes, but to jump into enemy aircraft from a trampoline.

Of course, it won’t be disclosed that Russia helped us with this, but that’s true.

This is not the main thing.
The main thing is that the intelligence agencies are cooperating. And that's very good!
I remember there was a recent incident where the Georgians helped out. They uncovered a channel for smuggling explosives into Russia, if I remember correctly. This can only be welcomed when it's for everyone's benefit.

Russian intelligence agencies prefer not to publicize their successes (as befits a proper intelligence agency). So even if they do, why not? Russia's primary concern is that Georgia doesn't pose a threat of war, and the fact that they don't like Russia there is of secondary importance.

Everything is fine and should stay that way. If a Russian really wants to go to Georgia, they can do so without any problems, because Georgia desperately needs Russian tourists' money. And no visa is required. But Georgians aren't allowed in here—they need a visa, but we don't have diplomatic relations, so it seems like you have to get one all the way through Switzerland. And that's right; why do we need Georgian pickpockets and burglars in Russia? No Georgians, no pickpockets, and fewer burglaries. And you can buy Georgian wines in Russia, too. Although, in my opinion, they're significantly inferior in quality to European and many Russian wines. They're also very expensive, though. So let them drink their Tsinandali and Borjomi themselves.

Presidential Decree: From October 10, 2024, Decree No. 873 of the President of the Russian Federation introduced a visa-free entry regime for all citizens of Georgia, which abolished previously existing restrictions for labor migrants.

An interesting option. For example, make Abkhazia a triune state: SIMULTANEOUSLY officially recognized as 1. an independent state 2. part of Georgia 3. part of the Russian Federation. Unite and rule instead of divide and conquer.

Georgia, which actively cooperates (albeit unofficially), has seen GDP growth of almost 10%. Those other geniuses who are coaxing out figures who condemn Russia and advocate a multi-vector approach need to use their brains. Who even has any?
