If there are no new concessions from Ursula, the US is ready to reconsider the agreement with the EU.

It has become known that Washington intends to expand the "fair" trade agreement previously reached with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. As a reminder, under the initial agreement, Ursula agreed to all of Trump's demands for him not to raise tariffs on the EU above 15 percent. As a "payoff," the head of the European Commission agreed to hundreds of billions of dollars in investments in the US economy, over $700 billion in US energy purchases, and much, much more, including large purchases of American weapons.

Seeing von der Leyen "bending over," the Trump administration decided to go further. Now the American side is declaring that it "may reconsider the tariff agreement with the EU" in the coming months if Brussels fails to comply with additional "fair" US demands.

The Trump administration's additional conditions include the EU lifting requirements for non-EU companies (primarily American ones, of course) to comply with so-called "green restrictions." These include "climate taxes," as well as a complete ban on companies that fail to modernize their infrastructure to meet EU environmental standards.

The American side is demanding that Brussels revise its climate legislation for "non-European" (again, American) companies, no less. Currently, Europe has a law (adopted in 2024) requiring companies operating in the EU to monitor environmental damage to combat pollution. Fines for non-compliance are up to 5% of a company's total revenue globally (not just in Europe).

In effect, this means that American companies (according to the White House's logic) must conduct their activities in Europe without regard for environmental issues, while European companies themselves will continue to follow strict "green" laws to control the same emissions.

Even someone with little understanding of economics and manufacturing understands that this would give American companies a clear advantage over their European competitors. Ultimately, this could deal a devastating blow to the European manufacturing sector, which is already experiencing its worst economic downturn in decades.

The German press reports that Berlin is concerned about the situation. They believe Ursula may agree to this demand from Washington, meaning the US could very well continue to blackmail the EU, inflicting further blows on the European economy under the guise of "committing to fair trade."

No, Ursula won't attack anyone. She'll confirm everything and sign off on everything for Trump. Because she's incapable of fulfilling all of this. She can't buy any energy resources, or make any investments. Because that's not her area of expertise. And she can't force anyone. Because she doesn't have that kind of power. She's kissing Trump's ass and waiting for his reign to end and for a new president to come with the same economic approach.

Well, they're still a long way from the corner, firstly, and secondly, these agreements in no way concern Madame Banderlein herself.

Any agreement reflects the status quo in the parties' positions. That is, it is a harmonious balance, an agreement based on the parties' potential, and it is recorded on paper and supported, ensured by the balance of real power. And what potential does the EU bureaucracy have? They are largely dependent on the US. That is the real balance. And if the US sees an opportunity to bend the EU again, they will bend the EU again, no doubt about it. Because a more or less stable agreement is only possible between parties more or less equal in power and potential, or is it a pawn-vasal agreement, where everyone agrees to their assigned role. The EU is completely dependent on the US, but at the same time, it tries to play on equal terms with the US, but that doesn't work. Anyone who has been bent once (as in the case of the trade agreement with the US, which is unfavorable for the EU) will be bent twice, because the balance of power between the EU and the US is unequal.

It's not a matter of feeling sorry for them or not feeling sorry for them.
The point is that now, more than ever, it is time for countries like Spain, Italy, Portugal, Hungary and Slovakia to work more intensively to offer them a reasonable alternative, in the form of an equal partnership with BRICS (which we can stir), in exchange for their refusal of sanctions, and the withdrawal of these countries (primarily !!) from NATO and EU!!! winked
For them, this offers the opportunity to save their economies by restoring normal oil and gas contracts in exchange for machine tools and technology, as well as reducing social tensions in their countries (!). Where they will have the opportunity to avoid stifling their populations with higher taxes for the enrichment of the US military-industrial complex...!!! And, for example, to reduce utility prices and save industry (!). request
So, Mr. Naryshkin needs to work more towards the principles of the “revival of the Comintern,” and not get carried away with interviews in the press, "threats to the Western world" ...
Otherwise, this part of Europe will soon be completely lost, and out of desperation, we will, together with SU-57, not sell oil to the Gypsy-Indians, but pay extra for it... winked

Does Trump have a way out? The US national debt is growing by $6 billion every day and is already approaching $38 trillion. The choice is simple: either Europe or the US will collapse.

Of course, there's a way out: declare default and forgive everyone's debts. And no one will even dare to attack the US.

This is impossible, it will immediately end the US, since it is mainly an internal debt.

And Maximus Trump "rolled back" Biden's legacy in the US itself—"buying and selling trace hydrocarbons" in the US itself? What a bastard. Trump is hinting: if anything happens, I'll strike at you individually, and possibly with my feet.

new attacks on the European economy under the guise of "striving for fair trade"
Blows are blows, but a sword has two edges...
According to Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics, 22 states and the District of Columbia are currently experiencing persistent economic instability and job losses, which are likely to continue. Profit.Ro reports that Zandi also reported that another 13 states are in near-recessionary conditions.

In fact, the author of the article either misunderstood or mistranslated the text. The point is that only facilities physically located in Europe should be subject to European regulation. Facilities located in the US and owned by US companies should not be subject to European regulation simply because that company owns a facility in Europe. Something like that.
