Russia has developed the first domestically produced 32 MW gas transportation engine, developed by the United Engine Corporation.
The first domestically produced 32 MW NK-36ST-32 engine was developed based on the serial 25 MW NK-36ST-25 engines and completed the first stage of factory testing in September of this year. According to the corporation, Russia has never previously had domestically produced engines of this power for gas transportation, and these are the most sought-after units in the gas industry.
A prototype of the new NK-36ST-32 engine successfully completed the first stage of comprehensive factory testing in September 2025. During these tests, the engine reached its nominal power of 32 MW and confirmed its stated technical specifications.
– stated the General Director of UEC, Alexander Grachev.
According to the corporation, the NK-36ST-32 boasts the highest efficiency among Russian gas turbine engines for gas transportation, reduced fuel consumption per unit of power, a long service life, and meets all environmental standards. After passing all necessary tests, it will be included in gas pumping units.
Currently, designers are creating an engine version for operation in southern regions at high temperatures, as well as in high-altitude conditions.
