A new batch of AK-12K assault rifles for assault units has arrived in the SVO zone.

A batch of new shortened Kalashnikov AK-12K assault rifles has arrived at the troops, shipment weapons The Kalashnikov Concern produced the weapon as part of a state defense contract, according to the concern's press service.

Assault units of the Russian Armed Forces in the Northern Military District have received a new batch of AK-12K assault rifles. Delivery details are not disclosed, but the shipment is large. The weapons have been delivered in full, and state commitments have been fulfilled ahead of schedule. The concern clarified that all AK-12K assault rifles are supplied in the "Multicam" pattern.

Kalashnikov responded promptly to the customer's request: we mastered production of the shortened AK-12K in the shortest possible time. Furthermore, the latest products were shipped to the customer ahead of schedule.

— said the head of the concern, Alan Lushnikov.

The shortened AK-12K assault rifle was developed for the Airborne Forces' assault units. Its short barrel makes it more suitable for combat in trenches, urban areas, and other confined spaces. Its combat performance remains unaffected. The first deliveries of the AK-12K in the "Multic" pattern were made in May of this year.

The main technical specifications of the Kalashnikov AK-12K assault rifle are: caliber: 5,45 mm; weight without magazine, sling, and accessories: 3,4 kg; rifle length without suppressor: 810 mm (in firing position); 570 mm (in stowed position); barrel length: 290 ± 20 mm. The rifle comes with a suppressor and eight magazines.

If only we could improve the production of drones of all types, it would be easier for our soldiers on the front lines.

Uncle lee hi The effectiveness of anti-drone weapons is STILL questionable; smoothbore is more reliable at this stage, so saturate the front and near edge with smoothbore weapons and continuously work on FPV hunters.

Uncle Lee, and that's good, but both sides learn quickly and find ways to counteract. I don't remember who said that all new products live on the North-East for no more than two weeks.

They're not knocking them out very much yet. The day before yesterday, a couple of drones made it to the Vladimir region, and they were only shot down here...

It sounds strange – a new batch of machine guns has already become a significant event... They need to be churned out in tens of thousands, and a single mention at the beginning of the delivery is quite sufficient.
Somehow they started to become smaller...

Well, firstly, it only went into production recently. Secondly, it's more like setting up new production lines, since even though it's a Kalashmat, the various models aren't 100% unified in terms of parts and manufacturing processes.

The question is not whether accuracy is needed or not, but that it is claimed that the characteristics will be preserved despite the short barrel.
And the fact that recoil doesn't depend on barrel length, was that your idea?

Recoil is impulse, and the muzzle velocity of a bullet is lower with a shorter barrel. Therefore, the recoil is lower!

The PSka (7N6) with a 74mm caliber has a speed of 900-915 m/s. The Ksyusha with a 202mm caliber has a speed of 735 m/s. I'd guess this one has a speed of at least 800+ m/s. So, the +/- isn't critical, considering it's used at ranges up to 200 meters.

And also, for our managers, it would be worthwhile to take the Israeli experience from Kalashnikov and make an AK with a "curved barrel" (specialized for assault) specially for shooting from around corners... that would be really cool... or not???

The ones who survive there are mostly those who feel a sense of purpose. Those with weapons, hunters from childhood, parents in the military, etc. Let's say they train a platoon of United Russia members, for example, and assign them to me. Would I go into battle with them? Of course not. A man born to crawl can't fly... no matter how much training you give him (c) look at your avatar. Some were after money. Some wanted to get their sentences reduced. Everyone knew what they were going for and had a goal. A motivated man is worth two, sometimes even three, who are being kicked.
Now, only old men and those who are motivated are in battle. And these kinds of individuals are superfluous there. There is no need for nurseries there. People are killed there. And there is no mercy there, or anything else. And there they kill the wounded - because no one will leave a partner to guard someone in the rear during an assault, etc. It doesn't matter what they call it. KTO, SVO. It's war, period. I'm not aware of that. I don't hang out in those circles, and my responsibilities are completely different. I don't have any random people or mobile phones at SVO. Just old men and double basses. I can't say anything about that. There's another reason why we're only accepted in a small circle. But I don't want to discuss that either. Of all the rifles available, I only got to use the M4A1 with a 14" barrel. With proper knowledge and care, it had no issues. Contrary to popular belief, it's an excellent carbine. But it requires some adaptation. You'll need to load your loadout differently and approach shooting in different positions.

It's not very convenient with a disc pistol. In the army, they tried mounting an RPK disc pistol on an AK, but it's too heavy and you'll definitely throw it away after firing. There's no time or desire to load it with rounds; a magazine is much more convenient.

No, they should make a 12 gauge, with good penetration and stopping power. Even if you shoot at a helmet from close range, the helmet won't save you.
A large caliber can be fired through a door or a thin wall, and if it hits the armor, the person will fly away.
