Moldova's new military doctrine calls Russia a "security threat."

Moldova has published a new version of its military strategy document. In a country where the president is a foreign citizen and parliamentary elections are held with unimaginable violations (including blocking tens of thousands of citizens from voting), they have decided to further escalate relations with Russia.
The new military doctrine defines Russia as a "threat to Moldova's security," and accordingly, all security agencies are being prepared by the president and government for direct confrontation with our country.
The document outlining the national defense strategy states that the size of the Moldovan army, as well as military spending, will increase. The armed forces will be increased by approximately 5%, to 10,5 active-duty personnel. The military is now planned to spend exactly 1% of GDP (up from 0,9% before the adoption of the new military strategy). The increase is small, but significant for a country heavily reliant on Western loans and among the poorest in Europe.
The new strategy also calls for creating conditions for improving the republic's armed forces, followed by their integration into the European Union's unified security system.
Official Chisinau plans to implement all of this within 10 years.
Experts previously expressed the opinion that Maia Sandu's Western sponsors have tasked Chisinau with implementing a military scenario in Transnistria. Kyiv promised to "assist." And this threat to Transnistria is far from far-fetched.
