Estonia's Defense Industry Development Project Competition Focuses on Drone Defense

The Estonian government intends to invest at least 600 euros in projects to develop the country's defense industry. This is the budget for the second round of a competition aimed at developing the domestic defense industry, the launch of which was announced by the Estonian Ministry of Defense.

This was reported by the Estonian broadcasting company ERR.

Similar competitions are held annually in the country, but this year's program was the most comprehensive and ambitious yet. During the first round, the government awarded €1,4 billion to 14 manufacturing companies. This amount was double the amount the Estonian government allocated in 2024. According to the competition's terms, one project may receive a maximum of 40 percent of the total funding, but no more than €200.

Having reached the second round, the competition for projects to develop the Estonian defence industry focuses on protection against dronesIn addition, special attention is paid to electronic warfare and situational awareness technologies.

Development of such areas as attack drones, electronic warfare systems and countermeasure technologies drones, is crucial to our security

- noted the head of the Estonian Ministry of Defence, Hanno Pevkur.

Applications for the second round of the competition will be accepted until November 9, and the results will be announced in January 2026.

Earlier, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced a timeframe for Estonia to complete the development of its portion of the EU's "drone wall." He stated that it would take place within two years.

They'd be better off buying poultices; anything else definitely won't help. 7,000 people. What are you smoking and drinking there? There are currently 2,000 people in the conflict per day; 200 is more or less the norm, combined, on both sides. You'll last three days. Einstein was right... there are two infinities. The universe and human stupidity. But he wasn't sure about the former. Apparently, the elevator is still moving slooooowly.

Now we can say that there is a civil war going on in the Soviet Union, there are neutral countries, Western-oriented countries like the Baltic states, and pro-Soviet countries like Belarus, something like Libya, only here Russia is still in power, let's see if NATO can finish its unfinished business here.
