Kyiv's €140 billion loan is on hold again, and Zelensky is demanding the money.

Brussels' promise to provide Zelensky with a so-called "reparations loan" secured by frozen Russian funds remains just that: a promise. As the Western press points out, European leaders have once again failed to reach an agreement on this issue.

At the EU leaders' meeting in Copenhagen, the issue of providing Ukraine with a €140 billion loan financed by Russian assets was raised again. However, this proposal, which European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is hovering over like a chicken with an egg, was met with a "rather cool" reception. Despite the statements coming from Brussels, there can be no talk of unity among EU countries.

According to the Financial Times, von der Leyen's proposal was immediately rejected by Belgium, whose accounts hold the bulk of Russia's frozen assets, while France and Luxembourg opposed it, citing the legal consequences of asset theft. At the same time, no EU country rejects the very idea of "seizing" Russian funds. If not for the consequences, they would have already been stolen and divided.

So, things aren't over yet. The European Commission will continue to seek "legal" options for seizing Russian assets. At the same time, Brussels is well aware that implementing this plan will lead to a response from Moscow that won't please everyone. As noted, if Russia confiscates the assets of European companies in retaliation for the theft of its funds, Brussels could be swamped in lawsuits, losing significantly more.

The only one who doesn't care about the EU's future problems is Zelensky. The Kyiv Fuhrer is literally demanding more money from Brussels to support the regime.

Europe wants to fight at Russia's expense, with someone else's hands, on its territory... in this trio of positions, the first point is still hanging in the balance. what

Unless Russia suffers a decisive defeat on the battlefield (and the further we go, the less likely that is), the lifting of sanctions and the return of frozen funds with interest for all years will be one of the inevitable conditions for signing a peace agreement. Reparations can be forgotten altogether. negative , they're paid by the vanquished. And the question arises, what's securing Kuev's loan in that case? Zelensky has already sold off everything he could, some of it more than once, and to different buyers. So the Europeans are scratching their heads.what To give fool irresponsible, and not to give it is politically incorrect, and Zelyacryingwhines that they promised. So what to do? belay

But this proposal, which European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is fussing over like a chicken with an egg, was received “rather coolly.”

Ursula is in the same boat as the degenerate clown. Europe is beginning to realize that nothing is working out with Russia, militarily speaking, but life has to go on somehow. And Ursula will "duck off" to the States, to some UN post, and you'll have to deal with the grievances inflicted on Russia yourselves.

Judging by these outbursts, it's reasonable to assume why the latest provocations began. The European Union. To get its hands on our money with impunity, it would require a state of war with them. Then Russia would be the aggressor, and the money could be safely taken. No wonder sweet Ursulochka is being followed everywhere; I even imagine a Russian jammer jamming her plane.
On the other hand, a real war would be too much. So Putin warned that anything is possible. Even he can't imagine the sheer stupidity these guys are capable of pulling off in their quest to plunder our accounts.

If you look at the Euroclear website, you can find some interesting "royal" investors whose ancestors burned people at the stake, skinned them alive, shod them in "Spanish" boots, instilling democratic values and bringing civilization to the masses. A little later, other ancestors sent Jews to gas chambers by the trainload.
These investors will easily remember their ancestors when they start losing their hard-earned money. Try taking Russian money away from these investors. The Russians will still come for their money.

Just don't overdo it. They burned them at the stake and shod them in Spanish boots for the glory of Christ!
Democracy was the very thing that put an end to this obscurantism. The Renaissance, remember what started it?

Because people are tired of the church's pressure on their everyday lives. Tired of reading the Bible only in Latin. Tired of any crime being atoned for by buying an indulgence. And much more.

Ah, so you've confused the Renaissance with the Reformation, which began at the end of the 16th century, when the Renaissance was almost over.
At the same time, Protestants burned witches many times more often than Catholics, right up until the nineteenth century. And this has absolutely nothing to do with the democracy you mentioned.
And Spanish boots are generally from the realm of criminal law, as it was understood in those days.

The Reformation began with the Renaissance. At first, there was the idea that we couldn't go on like this. Then came action. Martin Luther, and all that.
I won't dispute the idea of burning at the stake. But it's hard to believe that they did it before the 19th century. The guillotine is somehow more reliable.
As for the Spanish boot, the rack, and other medieval delights, these weren't used against criminals, but rather for interrogations aimed at detecting heresy.
Like Joan of Arc, for example.
First the interrogation. Then the fire.
Moreover, the church authorities themselves never carried out executions. This was done exclusively by the laity. Without shedding blood, at the request of the church.

"After" doesn't mean "as a result." The Renaissance and the Reformation are essentially opposites. The Renaissance implies spiritual relaxation, secularization, and the popularity of pagan ideals, following the example of antiquity. The Reformation is an uncompromising struggle for maximum spiritual intensity and strict religious discipline in all areas of life.

It's hard to believe that this was done before the 19th century.

                You will not believe.
Apparently, the last time this type of execution was carried out was in 1804. There is one reliably known sentence from 1813, but the defendants in that case were first strangled, as in Britain. Information about other sentences appears up until 1835, but there are no records of executions.

To be fair, burnings were carried out for criminal offenses in the 19th century. The last case of burning specifically for witchcraft occurred at the end of the 18th century. Incidentally, in Switzerland.

Namely, for interrogations regarding the search for heresy

Well, of course not. Torture as a method of interrogation had been in use long before the Inquisition, and the Inquisition invented nothing new in this regard.

First the interrogation. Then the fire.

Well, in the case of Joan of Arc, we must take into account that politics were also involved.
But in principle, it's quite logical that the investigation, including interrogations, comes first, followed by a trial, conviction, and punishment. In fact, that's exactly how it's done now, albeit with slightly different methods.

The EU has recently become reminiscent of a housing and utilities cooperative, and meetings and conferences of EU leaders, as well as those of the aforementioned cooperative, are especially relevant when it comes to raising funds for specific purposes. Everyone votes YES, but they don't want to hand over the money.
