One of the Russian-supplied MiG-29 fighter jets was spotted over Tehran.

A video has been published online showing one of the Russian-supplied MiG-29 fighter jets flying over Tehran. The video emerged amid rumors that these aircraft were being delivered to Iran as a temporary replacement while the delivery of the Su-35 fighter jets ordered by the country was delayed.

According to Abolfaz Zohravand, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, the Russian MiG-29s that arrived in the Islamic Republic are currently based at the Shiraz airbase. In addition to the MiG-29s, which represent a short-term solution to the country's defense problem while awaiting the delivery of Su-35s, Tehran also intends to purchase Russian S-400 air defense systems and Chinese HQ-9s.

Given the aging nature of the Iranian Air Force's current aircraft, the decision to supply Tehran with Russian fighter jets is entirely logical. This is especially true given the new phase of pressure on Iran and the renewed strengthening of the American presence in the Middle East. Furthermore, Iran's defensive capabilities were significantly undermined during the recent conflict with Israel. Given Iran's loss of aircraft and systems, Defense The appearance of the MiG-29 even as a “short-term solution” is entirely justified, especially considering that the MiG-29 is a universal aircraft, which, with certain modifications, can act as a carrier of guided missiles missiles "air-to-air" and anti-ship missiles.

And who's in the cockpit of this plane? Training a pilot for this machine isn't a matter of a couple of weeks.

The Iranian Air Force has long been familiar with the MiG-29. There were deliveries from the USSR, and flights from Iraq in 1991...

True, the USSR managed to supply these vehicles after the Iran-Iraq War. Russia did not supply them. And Tehran refused to return the "relocators" from Iraq.
I didn't know that after the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the USSR supplied weapons there in the dying days. But it actively sold them to Iraq.

The minimum is 1 MiG-29 delivered to the Russian Federation in 1994 to replace the one destroyed during delivery, the maximum they say is: 6 -29/29UB in 93-94.

Why is it glowing like that in the video, even while flying? Can't you see it flying? Or is it just shining a light on itself for the Mossad saboteurs?

In the Air Force, "night" comes on the commander's orders.
          And it's not a joke.

So, "warmth" in the army comes in the same way - changing hats for peaked caps and forage caps. wassat I know.

Iran did the right thing by buying MiGs. It's certainly more than nothing, and if it's from our reserve MiG-29SMT, it's a pretty good aircraft. It's not exactly top-notch, but it can do some things. And maybe the Su-35 will catch up, and that's a very serious aircraft. Now we just need to figure out the logistics and everything will be fine.

To compete with the Israeli Air Force on equal terms, there should be three or four hundred Su-35s. We ourselves have produced only a little over a hundred of them over the entire period of production. Otherwise, in the event of a confrontation, we would simply hide these aircraft so as not to lose them. Only China can supply such quantities. We need them for our front.

, only China can supply in such quantities,

China itself doesn't have that much. China has already ordered a batch of J-10s, also as an urgent order, a quick temporary solution. To speed up the process and reduce delivery times, Iran has ordered both air defense systems and aircraft from both China and Russia. This provides both a safety net and speeds up rearmament.
To confront Iran on equal terms, we urgently need AWACS aircraft (at least four, but preferably more) and fifth-generation stealth fighters like the Su-57 and J-35. And not instead of them, but alongside the Su-35SE and J-10. As a high-quality complement that evens the playing field and improves the potential.

Iran has neither the money for all this nor the ability to buy Su-57 and J-35, so the Jews will periodically thin out their assets.

They don't have that many dollars. But they do have money. And they have commodity coverage for that money. After all, we trade with them without dollars. So no problem - they'll pay.

We only started trading with them after the war started because we were in a pinch, there weren't enough weapons, so we were exchanging weapons for weapons, but they didn't have the money for such purchases. They couldn't pay for a hundred SU-57s at market prices, and we couldn't make that many for them. They pay China with cheap oil, and we have plenty of that stuff ourselves.

Iran doesn't just have oil; they also have cotton and more natural gas than Qatar. Under their previous president, we had investment projects worth $100 billion+ prepared. Just the other day, they announced that one of these projects is being launched – the construction of a powerful nuclear power plant with four or five power units, costing $25 billion. There were plans to build a gas liquefaction plant and a gas terminal in southern Iran using our technology (we have it), and the investment for this project is not expected to be greater. Iran has a fairly developed industry, mechanical engineering, chemicals; they don't rely solely on oil. And oil is also a currency these days – India is right next door, and our refineries are in India.

I don't think we're talking about a hundred yet. Besides, they've ordered at least 70 Su-35SEs and are waiting for them. They've placed an urgent order for 40 J-10s in China—also an urgent solution, just like with our MiG-29s... or maybe even our MiG-29s instead of these Chinese planes, since Iranian pilots don't need to be retrained on the MiG-29; they've already had at least two dozen of them for a long time.
The opportunity to order the Su-57 only arose this year, as production capacity only began to allow for such deliveries. Algeria is already receiving its first six Su-57Es this year, and the same number next year. So perhaps Iran will consider it too.

There's never too much of a good thing, because it's Good. And cheap Iranian oil is very useful for our refineries in India (which we share equally with the Indians). The lower the price, the higher the profit margin. Moreover, the logistics are simply superb – with minimal costs and lead times.
If the Iranian authorities have come to their senses after Israel's reprimand and their Western frenzy fades, we could have many interesting joint projects. At least under the previous president, such projects were being prepared and ready to launch.

Iran doesn't have the money for all this.

Instead of izers, they will bring us tomatoes from Iran and other fruits, vegetables, nuts...
Across the Caspian Sea and further along the Volga across the whole of Russia....
