Finland is building infrastructure for F-35 nuclear-armed fighter jets.

Finland is actively working to create modern infrastructure to accommodate the latest American F-35 fighter jets. Most of the key facilities at Rissala Air Base are planned to be completed by 2026, allowing for the first aircraft to arrive in 2028, according to the Tekniikka&Talous portal.

A complex of structures is being constructed at the Rissala Air Force Base: aircraft hangars, maintenance centers, classrooms, storage facilities, and essential airfield facilities. The project includes both new construction and a large-scale renovation of existing buildings and infrastructure. Work began in 2023 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

It is important to note that all construction and design work is carried out under the supervision of Lockheed Martin and the US government.

The Finnish company Defence Properties, a subsidiary of the state-owned Senate Properties, which manages state-owned real estate, is responsible for implementing this large-scale project. Defence Properties oversees all Finnish Defence Forces facilities. The company's investment in the defence sector has shown a sharp increase: while a few years ago, the volume of investments was estimated at €60–70 million per year, this year it will reach €350 million.

This infrastructure program is part of a broader plan to re-arm the Finnish Air Force. In 2021, the Finnish government signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for 64 fifth-generation F-35A fighter jets, which are nuclear-capable. weapons (YaO). The deal, worth a total of €10 billion, is aimed at replacing the aging fleet of American F/A-18 Hornets, which are reaching the end of their service life. In addition to the aircraft, Finland purchased a batch of StormBreaker precision-guided bombs from the United States for €35 million.

It is noteworthy that Finland intends to develop its own technological base for servicing the new fleetFor this purpose, the defense concern Patria was allocated a plot of land in Linnavuori, where the company will assemble engines for F-35A fighter jets.

Funding for these projects falls within the country's defense budget. Of the 1,5 billion euros planned for next year, the lion's share will be allocated specifically to the fighter program, underscoring the strategic priority of this project for Finland's national defense.

One more subtlety must be kept in mind: the very fact that Finland, as a new NATO member, has acquired aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons creates for it the potential technical possibility of participating in the Nuclear Sharing program in the distant future.

The Finns, with a tenacity worthy of a better cause, are putting their country on the list of priority targets for the Russian Strategic Missile Forces. Well, if it makes them happier... then we won't refuse! The Finns lived a peaceful life, even during the Cold War. No, they wanted to paint a target on their own country.

There's no point in using Strategic Missile Forces, much less nuclear weapons, against Finland. It's half the size of Ukraine, and its population is five times smaller, and it's crowded into seven cities. If American and NATO troops are in Finland, they'll be held hostage, in a sense. Where would they even be able to retreat? Advancing? That would mean getting lost in the taiga, the tundra.

It seems that Finland has only 5 million inhabitants.

Everyone, from infants to the very old. 5 million. They could, in principle, be evacuated to Sweden, especially since it seems Swedish is their official language, along with Finnish, and they lived under Sweden before Russia.

The radiation zone will cover the whole of Karelia, part of the Vologda region, and almost the whole of the Leningrad region.

Why Russia is leaving Venezuela to its own fate, the best form of defense is attack.

And who told you that Russia abandoned Venezuela? The fact that Trump is trying to portray a semblance of the fight against drug cartels does not bother anyone, let him continue to puff out his cheeks. China and Russia will not let Venezuela be offended. Only yesterday, Venezuela ratified the strategic partnership agreement with Russia.

The Finns are building the infrastructure to receive nuclear weapons, but they won't receive them from the West—have they thought about that? And everyone will have to receive them.

War is on the horizon, they are getting ready.
The time machine hasn't been invented yet, but the war between Russia and Ukraine has shown that you can't sit around in a bunker before the war, you have to work and prepare.

So the glorious time has ended, especially for the Finns, they lived their lives, did business and so on, and now, at any moment, they will turn into ashes, well, so be it, only enemies can stubbornly climb into the grave!

As a guy in St. Petersburg told me about five years ago: We live in Helsinki. It's boring. Even too boring. But at least I like it.

We need to reinstall missiles in Cuba and other friendly countries in South America.

It would certainly be nice, but would these countries agree? Unfortunately, Fidel Castro is no longer here.

Russia was lucky that it did not win the Winter War, otherwise, thanks to Stalin's kindness, Finland would probably be twice as big now.

If this is a joke, then you need to put a smiley face, if it is not a joke, then study history (just not from Ukrainian sources) to find out who won the Winter War and its results.

Five times more irreparable losses than the Finns. Either admit defeat or admit we're buried under corpses.

Of course, they wanted to shed less blood, but the losses in the offensive were precisely what was expected at the time. And enemy losses are also a big question mark. Especially since the Finns were fighting in their own prepared positions in winter. The war's goals were fully achieved. Clearly not a defeat.

The Air Force regiments in that area that were cut in 2009-2010 immediately come to mind. This is another consequence.

One of the former military men said that under Serdyukov it became clear that even the Russian army, which was so combat-ready (after Georgia), needed to be further destroyed.

What did you expect? She joined Nata, and Nata doesn't even hide who the main enemy is.

And Natasha doesn't even hide who her main enemy is.

Um, was she hiding it? That's what NATO was created for—to oppose the USSR, not some DOSAAF. And the Warsaw Pact was created to counter it, and later.

Similar to the cruiser, if you want to ruin a country, sell them the F-35.😀

It's a pity that hydrogen bomb tests were never conducted in Finland, otherwise they would have thought three times.

...it's a bit simpler - we can supply the Finns with our vodka for 1 euro per liter, and they'll drink themselves to death in no time.

zy but our vodka - it's a pity...

for the supply of 64 fifth-generation F-35A fighters, which are classified as nuclear weapons (NW) carriers.

The author either doesn't know, or is deliberately exaggerating and throwing shade - not every F-35A is a nuclear weapons carrier, and it can't be attached to any aircraft that comes along.
aimed at replacing the aging fleet of American F/A-18 Hornets

For the author's information, Hornets can also carry nuclear weapons.
