Kyiv to Stop Buying Diesel Fuel from India, Increasing Imports from Europe

Ukraine intends to limit diesel fuel imports from India starting next month, switching instead to supplies from European countries.
According to the Ukrainian energy consulting company Enkorr, the country's security agencies have ordered laboratory testing of all batches of diesel fuel imported from India for traces of Russian components. It is not specified whether fuel purchased in European countries actively purchasing diesel from India will be tested in a similar manner.
At the same time, according to the Ukrainian company, last month Kyiv imported 119 thousand tons of Indian diesel fuel, which amounted to about 18% of the total volume. Ukrainian traders were forced to significantly increase the purchase of diesel fuel from India after the destruction of Russian strikes drones one of the key remaining oil refineries in the Kyiv-controlled territories, the Kremenchug Oil Refinery. The oil products purchased in India were actively used for the needs of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Meanwhile, Europe is in no hurry to impose additional tariffs proposed by Trump on goods from India and China, which actively import Russian energy resources. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, Beijing will take decisive countermeasures if NATO countries try to impose tariffs due to purchases of Russian oil. The Indian government has also refused to stop buying Russian oil.
